Kep1er - Magic Hour Album Review

I'm glad I discovered The Door however the rest showed me exactly WHY I've been avoiding Kep1er all this time.
It's a shame how they're managed cos honestly The Door would've been a strong title track unlike that forgettable generic rubbish that's Galileo.
Xiaoting's voice though? WOW I'm looking forward to seeing what she does after this. Hikaru's dancing is also impressive as always. It's crazy cos watching them perform, they still feel like a rookie group and I don't see much chemistry between them or a sense of fun when they perform, maybe it's cos i'm not used to them but i dunno.

It's so sad because the group has so much star potential. Hikaru trained alongside XG. Yujin is a VETERAN idol and was one of the best dancers at CUBE and is a great vocalist. Xiaoting is a great singer, rapper, and dancer. The list can go on, but they underutilize the girls talents, give them a generic pop song with low budget, and then even style them like they're still rookies. I really think Kep1er just suffers heavily from poor management and poor marketing.

I like the idea of Mashiro and Yeseo joining Limelight, but I genuinely have no idea how the other careers will turn out. They’ll most likely be nugu unless they join one of the bigger companies (i.e. Chaehyun going back to SM). I would love for Xiaoting to be in a kpop group post Kepi, but my only concern is that they might think she’s “too old” (which she’s obviously not just yk how the kpop industry is now). It’ll be interesting to see where the girls end up post kep1er, and I can only hope they’ll have successful futures :(

It would be very different from how the industry treated the Izone girls. Xiaoting should be safe though since she's Chinese and there's still much room for ex-kpop stars in China

IMO, their previous album Lovestruck is much stronger than this one, but idk how much you’d like that one either cause it has a similar vibe. Also their “back to the city”performance shows their chemistry a lot more than the performances you watched. Their company honestly does not give them enough opportunities to truly showcase their talents cause let me tell you these girls are amazing. I know you said you probably wont check them out again, but if you want to see a more dynamic performance i definitely recommend checking out their mama stage from this year!!
