YT is on another guntuber pogrom: they probably took it out in the interest of longevity w/o YT trying to claim taking one down is "assembly" and against "community values..."

Bruce Brodnax

Did you leave out the take down process on purpose because it was in the original release?

Alan Carr

At about 48:30 you're discussing the Colt 1903 .32, but showing one of the exposed hammer .38's.

Erik

Did you really fire that pocket pistol at 70 yds? Thought that was your rifle test distance. Regarding the .32 acp rd: I once had a lengthy conversation with a WW II Waffen SS Panzer soldier. He preferred the .32 because in his experience it penetrated better than the .380. From his whole tone and demeanor I believe he was speaking from very first hand experience. And of course all of this occurred on the Russian front because he later became an American citizen. A final comment on the initials crudely scratched on one: Probably some policed initials on a recovered stolen (and later released) pistol for evidence chain of custody. I know, it makes no sense with a unique serial number but that was the SOP by police for many years.

Thomas Batha

Goof on our part, was supposed to say 30ft. Now at 70 that would be impressive!

Hi Bruce. Thanks for trying to help. I couldn't find the settings you referred to on my mobile phone but rebooted it and that did it. Many thanks indeed

Douglas Killock

Long story short, the acp designation is a result of good marketing by Colt and an extreme variety of cartridges available at the time. All the cartridges developed by Browning had numerous names throughout their development but eventually became acp in the US due to how they were marketed in sales catalogs. Because there were so many proprietary cartridges catalogs would often list cartridges by caliber and the firearm they went with. Condensing long model designations to a 3 letter initialism was just efficient.

Mr. Lee

Audio from 18:45 to about 27:00 seems off

Boomersparky

Have you gone into your Settings and cleared the app cache? [NB: Do NOT clear the "data" or you'll have to reinstall the app!] Also, when is the last time you rebooted your phone? [I know many people who leave theirs on for weeks at a time, just plugging in to the charger at night. Android is right up there w/ Win98 for poor housekeeping: reboot your phone daily as a habit for best performance...]

Bruce Brodnax

One thing that people are constantly surprised by seems to be how "weak" cartridges were back in the 19th century. Actually, up to WW2, these weaker chamberings were considered satisfactory because hello, no wide availability of antibiotics! Once being gut-shot was no longer a virtual guarantee of a protracted, agonizing death by peritonitis, those smaller calibers largely faded away in favor of more powerful "man-stoppers."

Bruce Brodnax

Maybe I missed it, but why is it called ".32acp" when FN produced the pistol it was fired from and Colt was merely a late-comer? We need some details on how "acp" [Automatic Colt Pistol] became the standard suffix for any new cartridge Browning developed. Also, when are we going to get an episode on the Browning vest pocket, so people will understand that .25acp is an abomination that only exists because Browning couldn't solve the 22lr feeding problem in that small platform? Hasta pasta rastas!

Bruce Brodnax

ONLY that 32acp. weak or there is a ton of history only behind the caliber. I think that little upside down barreled pistol kind of cute.

Guido Schriewer

for many it's a HP next to a 1911 as the last. for me ii is the 1911 and 03/07 9 browning long. even if not too great I just think it's cool. our buddy johnny B...

Guido Schriewer

At time stamp 48:59, is that a Mauser 1910 in .25 ACP shown to the right of the 1914 model in .32 ACP?

Fritz Heinrichs

49:32 Graphic shows the Netherlands, whilst the audio references Denmark

Minion

Think this will do well on YouTube.

Logan

I came here to say exactly this. Thunder stolen.

Mark Lathem

Ballistol?!!

Christopher Holt

You guys are disturbingly un-aged.

Christopher Holt

48.36, the clip is of the wrong Colt 1903... it shows the .38 Pocket Hammer while you're talking about the .32 Pocket Hammerless.

Mr. Lee

40:00 Impresive grouping at 70 yards with a.32!

Björn Gustavsson

Oh dear. I got to around 1.13 and nearly died laughing. A muff has a proper use as a word but in UK English slang it also has a meaning which refers to a particular intimate area of a woman's body. So what Othais says at that point would bring a whole new meaning to the definition of a concealed weapon

Douglas Killock

PS I am not expecting you to fix this but thought you might want to know

Douglas Killock

There appears to be some weird glitch on the Patreon app (mobile phone Android). I cannot access your videos as it keeps asking me to sign in to prove I'm not a bot. I am signed in, multiple authentications have been done. I can get your pod, and download scans. The error page tells me .....could not be loaded because: net::ERR_BLOCKED_BY_RESPONSE.

Douglas Killock

@Matteo Manino, as Johnathan Ferguson realize in his latest video on video game guns of Warhammer 40k. They still use imperial, so we know which measurement survives

Justin S

28:27 you spell "the overwelming majority of humanity that use rational measurements" wrong

Matteo Manino

First .32 ACP is the best one? I remember when you used to joke about being the .32 ACP channel, but it actually became my favorite caliber to shoot and collect.
