What gave it away was an estimated route completion of 40+ minutes for a location only a couple of miles away, and taking me down a side street full of stop signs that was paralleling a main thoroughfare. The idiotic stop signs route was what triggered my noticing that the route time was absurd, which led to the discovery it had somehow ended up in pedestrian mode, which I have never used in Gmaps...
