Q&A - Part 2

Comments

Just wanted to say I really appreciate the downloadable audio -makes me look forward to the 40-minute commute through the Wisconsin countryside!

William Jensen

yup. time consuming, isn't it.

Guido Schriewer

53:28 and a Schwarzlose 55:12 can the word " savage" in a gun content be the problem?

Matteo Manino

RE: your comments about why y'all won't share your CA visit deets; no complaints, completely understandable, but it does bring to mind a future fundraising idea: raffle off "a day at the range w/ Othais & Mae (& other sundry C&Rsenal crew who may want to take part & meet the fans.)" Details to be set in stone [refer to your local edition of the Farmer's Almanac for a day that isn't likely to be rained out] and all transportation to be up to the winners. Get IV888 to take part/host? (seems like he has some experience in this area); participation in the raffle to constitute waiver of liability, etc. Set fixed # of attendees [whatever you think you can handle], raffle some tix, auction a fixed %age [say 10% of the total?] for those who are willing to spend extra for the privilege of knowing they'll have a ticket, and maybe a give away a few to random Patreons? Offer to make a special run of polos for the event, delivery to be completed in person on the day of: if attendee is a no show, the shirt goes: we'll sell it on ebay, that's what you get for being a slacker, you snost - you lost! Shirts are an add-on fee for the lucky winners, if they so desire. [Obviously, there will need to be enough lead time btw the end of the raffle and the actual event to allow for shirt ordering/printing/shipment to venue.] C&Rsenal get's a big funding injection, you get to treat yourself to a day off with nothing more than meeting your fans, introducing them to *your* idea of good BBQ, and a chance to do a little pleasure shooting, since you say you haven't had much time for that recently. If I wasn't all the way across the continent from you I'd be up for it, and who knows, if it takes you a year or two [or it becomes a repeat event] then I might be retired and moved closer by then [making my escape from the PRK gulag 1st thing when I retire, to someplace w/ a lower tax burden & more rational legislation...] Regardless, I think it may prove even more profitable than the annual t-shirt drive, and video of the event "A Good Time Was Had By All" might even net you some referrals on the evilness of Their Tooob since how can they say a vid of a frickin' garden party violates their [unstated, unknown, subject to unilateral redefinition at random] "ToS?" I figure a range day w/ lunch and "celebrity" meet & greet is probably going to be $100/ticket as a start. I'm a notorious cheapskate, and I'd consider that as a possibility [if it weren't for being so far away, as already stated.] Y'all would have to wrap your head around the idea and consider if it would be worth it to you at all, or if it's just a logistics nightmare you'd rather not entertain, but wanted to throw the proposition onto the fire & see if it lit...

Well, aside from Othais' comment about "make them out of brass," I think there would be a reasonable market for a Maxim repop at an inflation-adjusted equivalent price. Let's see, $8, carry the 1, so, that's ~ $125 before the NFA tax stamp. Quite reasonable, actually, esp. as the performance is still quite adequate. Make them out of stamped stainless and the unit cost would be quite low if made in similar volumes as the original. Work a deal out w/ Ruger to bring back the Marlin 39 w/ a threaded barrel and sell them as a package; I'm sure the market will absorb quite a lot of them!

Bruce Brodnax

Yeah! I'm finally part of the 1%!

Yes, it's high time we get to meet the dogs.

John Thomas

Track down some Dragon's Milk if you can find it. Will knock y'all down.

John Thomas

I know I'm a day late and a dollar short, but will y'all start posting videos on Rumble? Your channel is the only thing keeping me on yt.

James M Palmer

I think you're right about the Maxim silencer reproductions. I am aware that Yankee Hill Machine made a limited run of reproduction .22 caliber Maxim silencers about a decade ago, but I have had a damned difficult time trying to locate one to buy. Apparently the used silencer market is so dead because nobody wants to buy a used one that nobody bothers to list them.

Hunter Compton

It just occurred to me that by the end of this, I'll have spent more time w/ you 2 then I did with my best friend all of last year! PS: video of the dogs next time or they never happened; can't let those pesky guinea pigs get all the glory! πŸ˜‰

"But wait, there's more!" OMG, almost another 3 hours?!? Somebody please, rescue these castaways! Jeez, when do you have time to do this? YouTube is going to be very, *very* upset with you for undermining their whole "YT shorts" push with this! πŸ€ͺπŸ˜‚πŸ˜†
