It’s back….The Jean Dam Marie. Oathis loves to say those words. Perhaps a Halloween costume is in order?

I was thinking the large grip was for dual use as a club but then you mentioned the saber. Police sabers had blunt blades making them clubs, not cutting weapons.

We didn't see the grips off, but do you suppose the length of the handle is an effort to counter-balance the weight of two full barrels out front?

This would be horrible to face in a gunfight. Especially with abdominal carry.
If I saw someone pulling the BangBang Banana out of their pants, I could actually die laughing before lead poisoning!

How hard was this to animated compared to a bolt action or revolver? Because that is wonky trigger
You both seem to be having fun, which is awesome. The pistol surprises me in that they didn't make enough for Russian zampolits to carry to shoot dissidents. With a little work, someone could make a .410 version. And finally, if only having two shots bothers you, have a bunch of them, like Blackbeard had flintlock pistols. Thanks.

Personally I would let the wolf deal with the drunks. And maybe have time to reload the carbine...

Is this pistol more, or less, Steampunk than a Mars? It's a tricky decision.

What a fun AND interesting piece to look at this week! I’ve been looking forward to getting into some of the Negant Rolling Block pieces since their mention in older episodes. I only wanted more! But then I always do so 🤷♂️ oh well.
Im off to the Royal Armouries this weekend so let me know if you’d like me to give any messages to Mr Ferguson or pinch his nips or owt like that! Peace!

Most cavalry (all?) carried their saber on the left side, to be drawn and swung by their strong (right) hand. Once belt-holsters became common, they were normally worn on the right side, butt-forward, so they could be drawn with either hand. Carbines would be on single-point slings (hence the usual "carbine sling bar" on the side of carbine receivers), or in saddle scabbards. I dunno about Belgian mounted police -- perhaps they carried two of these pistols in saddle holsters? The pistol has a lanyard, possibly connected to the holster.

The height of the bore seems to be a consequence of needing to put the trigger under the stacked axes of the rolling block mechanism. I have no idea why the handle is so long -unless they intended to use it to pummel drunks and wolves after firing the two shots off into the atmosphere.

I’m so stoked for more repercussion. Can’t wait for the 1851 Navy.
