You are correct of course but to be fair to Othias the pistol is clearly marked ".38 Rimless" on the slide. Being the only non revolver .38 cartridge at the time it was known as the ".38 rimless" and he was referring to design discussions at that time.

Justin Bulling

so cool, thanks!

Coatl

Only a minor misstatement... At the 1:51 mark you refer to 38ACP as being "rimless" rather than semi-rimed.

uhem lowering that hammer 1st I'd use TWO hands and that's what one would do with a cz75 and all clones of it IF (great thing is that the czech classic offers OPTIONS) one would want to run it chambered hammer down safety off da to sa. I'd want it condition one actually but..... . however. an internal fireing pin on a semiauto pistol was NEW technology then so... people had to get the milage first and gather some knowledge for sure.

Guido Schriewer

Personally didn’t see any problems, thank you

Brock Gouett

James is correct. It's like watching a separate video.

Lemonjellow

I just want to say keep up the great work. I appreciate it

The 1902 Military is one of my favorites. I would again suggest an admonition for people to stop firing 38 Super in these. I have been fortunate enough to handle quite a few of the 38 models and about half were missing their buffers. I preferred the heavy spring over the bronze buffer as the later seemed prone to peening itself in place over 100 years of use, but I don't know of any source for the early style spring buffer.

Mr. Lee

Looks good to me, domt see any errors

Sven Jonsson

Without naming who did it, what were the three guns that lost their firing pins? Just curious.

An easier and more positive way to go to half cock might be with the pistol in your right hand, control the hammer with your left thumb, ease it all the way down, then pull it back one click to half cock. It takes two hands, but there should be no hurry at this point.

Martin Morehouse

Nice!

Like the prerelease, as always very educational. Just to let you know I got my tee-shirts Monday, I love them, showed my wife and all she could was shake her head.

Adam Junemann

Interesting discussion at the end about safety between May and Othias. I carried a Browning Hi-Power in service and we always carried it mag in, safety off, empty chamber, hammer down. Two hands to make ready. Safety is all. No problems in the video btw!

Mick Gillen

I like the bonus Unloaded rant about firing pins at the end of this episode.

Ronald Carrier

I think they get wiped out

1. Thanks for doing the episode regardless of not having the exact, specific parts configuration. It's been over a hundred years; we get it; covering the difference is fine. 2. Half-cock safeties were a very accepted norm on long guns at the time, and if you're engaging the safety, you're no longer in a hurry. I think you need to address those with a better understanding of that context. 3. As with last episode, I think a "this gun is NOT compatible with .38 Super" mention should be inserted. 4. Colt collector inflation: "The Horse can have a strong influence on the weak-minded" - Obi Wan Kenobi XD

If I watch this pre-release, does that count toward the number of views for the full release?

My t-shirts arrived safe in the UK. I am wearing Ta-pum tonight and hopefully seeing the member of the Tyrolean Peoples Front (or is it the People Front of the Tyrol?); but as she is studying Forensics I'll not have to explain about rifle bullets travelling faster than sound.

Bradwan

Great episode, no problems that I noticed.

Alexander Hickman

Christmas this year is shaping up to be a pretty darn good one!

Mitch Hill

The grammarian cometh ;)

Wayne Dygert

unrelated comment before I forget. Can we all agree that the term revolutionary should only be used to describe revolvers?

David Herman

A new Primer pre release. Let’s get this out on a tray. Nice! Back in about an hour…

Pat Houlihan

Mae Responding: There is going to be a gap, there'll be a few episodes between these, then some more colts.

C&Rsenal

Othias I thought you said you were going to like..skip to the Colt episodes every other week so we don't run into a Bergman situation? Not that I care, really..I was more interested in the filler-in-between primers, but anyway..off to Primer fueled Insomnia land. edit- prob should have just watched the episode first! lol

Dylan Latour

posting after midnight... Scandalous.
