Part 2: The Big Update: We're Alive but the show will be Delayed
Added 2021-09-28 02:34:59 +0000 UTC
Today's podcast, of course, will cover a lot of tiddly details around the sickness and our schedule interruption.
If you'd like to avoid the multi hour update, there is the quick summary: We lost a LOT of time off the schedule. We're still a bit hazy. At least one episode is going to be missed and probably a 2nd. A lot of our production is skill based and recovery is a vague process that's hard to pin on the calendar.
We'll continue to keep you guys updated and hurry things along as best we can. Regular episodes will be back soon. Sorry for the interruption!
Part one is attached, just in case you missed the first podcast upload. As are the shirt images for the soon to come campaign we'll be rolling out.
-Othais
Thanks for the comical side takes. You brightened my day.

Just been too busy to idle or play games for a while. I'll be back and I'm always watching the shows-chat etc.

We actually have a nice, rugged range laptop. It's just that you then have to run back and forth with it and the footage.
We use it to control the camera when we use the jib as well.
I was told Sabor means "flavor" so... it has flavor.

Was the misspelling on the Sam colt C&Rsenal intentional? Seems like a bad idea if people are searching for the misspelled brand name lol

Please do plan in a month or so break a year to take a breather or build up some reserve episodes for a rainy day. You always sound on the edge of burnout during the podcasts.

“Sabor” in Spanish means flavor. I took a look at the Texas Pete sauce label and it just says Sabor. It’s like getting a bottle of your favorite condiment and says “Flavor!”

@C&Rsenal I think if Utreon's live system is ready you can use it to do a "patch job" to save your public release schedule. Before Monday do a 1-hr or so live on Utreon on a good light subject that doesn't require a lot of research time and effort and make sure you record it. Then make a quick 30-60 second introduction explaining that it's a recording of a live and post it on YouTube in place of the usual primer episode late Monday night / early Tuesday morning when you normally post the public version of the episode. Same size of upload in the same release spot. Save your rear on the YouTube algorithm and save your momentum. All for a small half day input and hour two of prep, an hour live stream, an hour to prep the recording and upload for scheduled release on YouTube to fill the hole where a normal episode would usually be. As far as a "light" topic for the live stream, my suggestion would be an extended hour long "Mae Conversation" about what the two of you would like to bring home as "duffel bag guns" at the end of The Great War. Nothing that requires research all just your own personal opinions about the stuff you would like to bring home at the end of that war for your own personal desires and preferences to have and shoot for fun or sport or just as trophies or "cool guns" that you would have been looking to stuff each of your duffel bags with on your way home if you would have been there and had the chance. And on the other hand what you would have left behind as not being worth bringing home. Remember there is only so much you can stuff in a duffel bag. Grab a few off the wall or out of the drawers to hold up and show. Heck have a duffel bag on the table and see if you can stuff all you want into it or not.

As far as a month off goes, I think that may not be a bad idea, although I could see it hurting your YouTube engagement. Perhaps a solution could be to not do Primer for month and just do a couple short, "easy" videos? I would also be a fan of a quarterly or even biannual Q&A session. A live show would be an absolute delight in my opinion! It could be either an informal show where you focus on connecting with the community or a formal show somewhat similar to Primer, or something in between! I personally am a fan of Clips, so please continue them!
I hope you all continue to feel better and am glad you made it through the worst of it! I think I can speak for a lot of supporters of the show when I say to please, please, take the time you need to fully recover and we will be happy that new content is released, regardless of when it is released.

This has raised more questions than answers…
Is “Somebody has to pay for this shit… I want to make sure he show keeps getting produced” the new C&Rsenal supporter slogan?
Would a laptop help with computer use during ‘that’ stage of filming?
Could the soon to be missing episodes be replaced with a Utreon live stream re-posted to YT, and/or would a biannual live stream special create a “one month off per year” without breaking the release schedule?
Is Range Day with C&Rsenal-ities, (Bloody Mary with Blue Moon chaser after-party optional) a viable fundraiser?
Is more WeatherTech the answer to what practical ‘thinger’ makes a good holiday gift for Mae?
As for answers, clearly your “Sobor” sauce is pronounced as the Russian “Cобор,” meaning cathedral is, and growing up I knew of the Kровавая Mэри (Bloody Mary) as a layered shot of tomato juice and vodka. Personally, I find tomato juice vile, unless its is drowned in horseradish and Worcestershire sauce, rimmed with margarita, not celery salt, and garnished with an appetizer on a stick.

Weathertech makes everything from rubber floor mats that are an EXACT fit with retainers and everything (I have these and they're awesome in my commuter), to the floor liner trays that would keep an oil field worker's truck clean. They're good stuff and I was stoked when I got some for Christmas.

Idea for setting up the trap wall, it might be possible to use those command strips to temporarily stick the hooks to the wall for a test fit.

We saw that crazy housing market thing down here in Texas too. My current house appreciated 25% in a year! Which, of course, meant that my property taxes jumped up accordingly...

We have. However, we don't really have the financial leverage for it. Especially with how the real estate market sky rocketed recently!
There's also a weird necessary balance of internet access vs shooting access. We're very online dependent.

Have you guys thought about moving out to the boonies, where you can get a bigger house with land? I know that's probably a stupid question, but I just have to ask. If I worked from home, I would do that in a heartbeat! I live in a huge city, but I would love to have some land.
