Scan - Manufacture Liegeoise d'Armes a Feu

A lot of you have been kind enough to select a donation level of $5 or more out of nothing more than the will to support the show more.   While it has been very kind, we've decided to introduce a higher tier perk as a way to say thank you.

Because of our research for the up coming repeating shotgun series, we've been doing a lot of digging into antique catalogs and magazines.  Since we've had to buy a few directly anyway, we're going to start scanning these public domain resources and releasing at least one a month for our $5+ patrons.

This little Liege catalog, however, is an example for all of you to try out!  See if you like the idea!

Please do understand these are historical documents and reflect the values of their times.  We did not write them!  Also do feel free to discuss these documents here with other patrons!

EDIT
Just to be clear, we did also release the first $5+ document as well.  It is a "Sport Manual" magazine now available to those patrons.

Mae Responding: Patreon is weird in that if you select a lower tier and then manually increase the amount you give, it doesn't automatically bump you up into the appropriate tier. You would just need to manually select the tier level you want and then if you want to keep giving more you can just manually increase the amount after you select the tier.

C&Rsenal

Did you actually join the $5 tier or are you in a lower tier and giving more than that tier amount?

CountryRock _2001

No sport manual link has appeared. And I’m over $5 a month.

Just one? I want a whole collection of tiny impractical pocket revolvers but I live in the UK so I would probably set my sights on one of the shotguns for legal reasons

Geoff Lamb

Thanks for replying. Didn't want to think i was getting something I wasn't entitled to. Patreon's done that for me at least once before with a different creator.

Geoff Lamb

If I could purchase just one item from the catalogue....

Philip Brucker

That is correct. There is a 2nd, bigger magazine for the $5. While we can't promise something small every month when we get little things I'll try to make sure some go out to the $1 gang!

C&Rsenal

Just to let you know I am only a $1 patron and I received this as well. You might want to double check the settings (not that I'm not grateful for the cool pdf in my inbox)

Mae Responding: Vous êtes les bienvenus!

C&Rsenal

Mae Responding: Need them for all occasions.

C&Rsenal

Mae Responding: Thanks! I'm happy they turned out so clean too. Had to chase out a stray dog hair or two.

Merci! Je suis etudiant du francais, et je cherchais des documents des armes en francais. Maintenant, voila, j'en ai!

Pat Welsh

FINALLY. Sensible carbine options for both the salon AND the garden.

Evan Matthiesen

I can see how you can get lost in the history - as was previously mentioned. Can you imagine what it must have been like working in the factory pictured at the beginning and end of the catalog?

John Fugedy

This is so cool, great job

andrew ray

Neat! Very clear and legible.

For $5 guys there was a PDF error. We're re-compiling it and re-uploading. Stand by. edit: all done.

C&Rsenal

Thank!

This reminded me to put my donation back up to $10 from $1. I had to economize last month, but this month is a lot better. This is a really cool addition to the patreon. I love old catalogs and the like.

As someone working in museums and with similar types of collections, this is INCREDIBLY high quality and really important. This is the sort of content that can get lost to history, and saving it as a .pdf is an amazing option. Out of curiosity, what do you use to scan it?

Ross Edelstein

I can offer some decently accurate translations for those who wish. Although late 19th century and early 20th century Parisian French is far different than modern Quebecois French.

Andrew Mack

These are really good scans, wonder if I can find a translation overlay app to really get down in to it
