I appreciate the reply and honesty.."it's complicated", that sounds like the status of the relationship between my wallet and me eyeing to buy WW1 militaria..

James G. Jones

I honestly don't know the math on that. I'm betting "it's complicated"

I am curious, if the French put heat sinks fins on the barrel the way the Japanese did on the type 38 machine gun, would that helped more with heat dissipation and possibly made the barrel thinner and lighter? It probably one of them dumb what if questions.

James G. Jones

The biddly bop.

C&Rsenal

accurate

C&Rsenal

We try our very best. I have so many notes that end in questions marks though!

C&Rsenal

It became an obsession

C&Rsenal

Of course

C&Rsenal

I apologize for your ongoing edutainment

C&Rsenal

No fooling. I wonder how many antebellum inventors we never heard of due to dead markets?

C&Rsenal

I assure you, I'm happier with this.

"There's my doo-dad. . .there's my ding-a-ling". . . Glad to see someone else has a grasp of proper armorer's nomenclature. I'm pretty sure the doomahickus is a German Maxim accessory. XD I think this episode set a record for number of times the weapon was rotated 180 degrees. More cameras next time, maybe?

Erik

from the end of the video I'm assuming the "wobble boom hose" from project lightening is next.

Andrew MacDougall

Never mind production, which is excellent, I remain gobsmacked at the amount of research you are able to conduct for these episodes. Full marks!

Red Marley

From now on, I am sure you can have at least one down vote from someone who occasionally resides in Arizona when he isn't traveling the world like Indiana Jones searching for lost and forgotten firearms. He just mutters... "not the Lewis Gun <clicks down="" thumbs="">"</clicks>

Tres Bien!

At the close of this episode which I very much enjoyed, especially when Mae appeared to have a quick case of the goggles after blowing through the final ammo strip, Patreon popped up a four cell frame one of which was the T-33 Tokarev mud test from in rangeTV. To my befuddled eye the hand holding the pistol forms a perfect Cyrano de Bergerac profile. Maybe I should have held off of that second pot of ☕,

Wayne Dygert

Fantastic. Glad were back to normal episodes. The longer the better

0:32 "..GRUNT" LOL 😜

Ahh dang it, right when I have just 16 videos left to watch to have seen all Primer videos to date y'all drop another one..lol I spent past two months watching all primer videos, and didnt find a single one boring or dry. I just wish my brain could retain more knowledge from videos, just watch videos again someday.

James G. Jones

Agreed about the regular programming. Machine guns of the Great War; Maxim designed by American, Hotchkiss designed by American, Lewis Gun designed by American, Browning designed by American. Not to mention the other martial products designed by Americans. Seems like a legacy of the innovation environmental legacy of the War Between the States in the US bore an interesting fruit for the world. I guess Maxims unnamed friend was more right than he knew.

Charles Adams

While I enjoyed the Lightning specials, I am very happy that regular programming has resumed!
