Planning
Added 2018-09-06 02:47:56 +0000 UTCSo the shirts on in production and we managed a health margin of about 1/3rd the total.
This cash is extremely helpful because half will go towards cleaning up outstanding debts and delayed necessities for the show and the rest is heading for investment in breaking up the very real iceberg that is the next few months of episodes in planning.
Some are held up by research, some by ammo, some by repairs, many by guns themselves. It's becoming a part time job just trying to keep an eye up for what's next.
With that said, the campaign and my time off are going to result in a non-Primer episode next week. Bruno and I will, instead, be discussing how many ways there are to configure a bolt action rifle.
Couple other points:
1. We never publicly signed up for the TimeGhost WWII project because of concerns with promises/delivery. Sadly those did prove correct and despite being in the loop this whole time, have not seen the realization of even the basic needs to proceed. So no, we are not producing for them at this time and unless there are major changes it is unlikely in the future.
There is no malice here; it is just actually impossible for us to commit to such a project without proper support, planning, and communication.
2. I am very happy for those who have loaned us firearms or given us access to their research and resources. Today I had an interesting and very unique exchange in my years of doing this, basically someone charging for access and information.
While somewhat jarring first, it is a reminder that there is work and therefor value behind much of what has been shared for free in this series. I know of several very underpaid researchers who have had a huge impact on our understanding of small arms history and many more people who have played singular, but still important, roles.
Overwhelmingly the information behind our episodes has been shared freely with us and, in turn, every episode has been free to see online. We're thankful to YOU who subsidizes the project so that everyone can benefit, now and for years to come.

well that might have explained it then.

2018-09-08 13:14:07 +0000 UTCI suspect this person didn't know about the campaign but may see us more as traditional TV. If we had the budget of a standard TV show good lord!

2018-09-07 17:43:00 +0000 UTCWW2 didn't start until 80 years ago *NEXT* September: I was never expecting that project to get off the ground before The Great War was finished w/ their week-by-week breakdown of WW1, which won't end for another couple months. Hopefully, a rational timeline for this project can still salvage some of the promise?..

2018-09-06 18:28:01 +0000 UTCI'm glad you've been able to pay off debt. Even if the amount is small it just sits there looking at you making you feel miserable.

2018-09-06 13:37:59 +0000 UTCA shame about TimeGhost. I think they pushed the start date up to far. It's a huge project and will take a lot of work just to get it off the ground.

2018-09-06 06:25:14 +0000 UTCLike Mr. Rogers always said, look for people who are doing the work in the background. I may be paraphrasing his words but the thought rings true. We wouldn't be able to enjoy this amazing thing with out you and your merry band of men and women who put their time and energy into this. We will support you in what ever comes next.
