I would like to happily remind everyone this number represents the public demand for in depth firearm history.  I'm proud to see it grow.

Comments

I've noticed that almost every time I watch a new episode, I actually think "Well, this must be the best episode so far".

Pirren

We are experimenting with keeping the show from being too dry. I suspect it stands out because it comes and goes so sharply. Give us a chance to practice?

C&Rsenal

Still love what you do, but I gotta say I find the new (i think?) background music a bit distracting. The tunes in the shooting segment and animation are fine; it's the other stuff during the regular discussion.

Brendan Funnell

Another great episode. Still chuckling over the Trench Ninja. Keep it up, gang!

Kent W.Fevurly

Just think, you shorten the barrel like that, and you might stun several enemy soldiers at once with the muzzle blast. Basically a flashbang gun, that also kills people you point it at.

lovot

Count another that would love for the return of the soothing sounds from the voice of Othais, uninterrupted by the distraction of music! Even were the volume of the background score reduced by 80% it is still an unnecessary aberration to an otherwise excellent commentary on little known subject matter. Do please ditch the tunes whilst telling the tell!

Mustafa's Fleas

Oh yeah... it was 70 as usual

C&Rsenal

cant help but compare it to other Big Bore BP cartridge rifles. .45-70 Government Trapdoor and .577 Snider.

A Pete Bingham

Excellent, 1871 bolt action.

A Pete Bingham

Great episode (really appreciate the explanation of single shot/black powder in real terms of the battlefield environment). Not sure if I missed it, but you usually super impose the target range for the group (70 yards?). What distance did you shoot from? Thanks!

James Caldwell

At ~2:00 C&Rsenal has just opened up a new aspect of collecting old guns! Ah! A 1917 vintage Springfield '03. The nose has hints of sulfur, salt peter, mil spec grease, old linseed oil, and CLP. And on the palette there is a smooth metallic taste, old wood, and an aftertaste of Rem oil...

Jason

Intro @ ~1:50 gave me flashbacks to the "Feelaround" segment of _Kentucky Fried Movie_ =8-o Please Othais: don't go there!

Bruce Brodnax

Funny, I make my grandfather's noises now too... [sigh] Anyway, I'd tumbled to the fact that Othais was just making things clearer for those of us in e-space a long time ago.

Bruce Brodnax

I dunno Othais, "Ninja Trench Carbine" sounds pretty cool.

General Jack Ripper

Try the new Triple Seven brand, it's made with *actual* sugar! ;-D

I absolutely love your videos and like the intro music too, but please, pleeeeaaase don't start putting music underneath the narrative content. It's one of the plagues of modern factual TV and makes it much harder to listen and concentrate for the extended periods of time that your subject matter and excellent personal delivery merit. Your words are what we want to hear.

Your making old man sounds I have the same problem.Awesome episode and great puppy opening pic

That reminds me, I have to go to the gun shop to get more black sugar to put on my Wheaties tomorrow...

Great intro... Looks like I will be up a while.

David Nesius

In regards to the intro. I kind of wonder how many countries had guns in inventory still that they looked at and went "...No, that's TOO old."
