Neophytes are to be forgiven if they can't tell whether this is a series on WWI or an episodic documentary on John Browning interspersed with shorts on other designs for comic relief comparisons.

I think we underestimate the use of pocket pistols in WWI, because there is no database for privately owned guns used in service by infantrymen. Recently, I was teaching WWI italian trench knife of the Arditi, at a european martian arts event, after the original manual got reprinted, and I really felt I wanted a handgun with me, in a trench raid. We made several simulations involving defendants with gun and bayonet wasters. Knife and granades aren't going to solve all problems and the knife is fantastic once the distance has been closed but, if you are not able to enter in the trench from the side or one defendant is able to level the bayonet at you, you really could use a handy little firearm. The pocket pistol may seem puny, but it can be hidden by the sight of those who would argue that you have a non regulation weapon and used when appropriate. Eric Maria Remarque mentioned that he carried a .25, in "All Quiet on the Western Front".

Comparing guns to pies = making delicious sense! What pies would Othais and Mae carry into the Great War to win the hearts and minds of the enemy?

I love this gun, it points and shoots naturally! A joy to shoot and an honor to own.

I still carry my 1908 when I have to wear a suit. Slimmest, sweetest pistol ever made!

Finally! My most desired handgun, the one that's been on my wishlist longer than any! I have a very odd fascination with .32 caliber handguns (which I totally blame on Jim Croce), and this is the king of them! Thank you all very much!

I saw Colt 19... on my phone as an update. Sadly, today is not that day. But one day..., it will be.
