The Shelby Cobra of rifles, British chassis, American power. :-)

Franz Anton Mesmer

I have a couple of treasured pictures of my Great Uncle in 1942 during Army Air Corps flight training wearing a gas mask and holding his 1917.

Paul Dame

Didn't Sgt York carry one of these? Or was it a Johnson rifle?

There's only one thing stopping me, and that's the staggering poverty! But someday!

I shot mine yesterday. That kraut mustard bottle didn't stand a chance.

They made it pretty far in some cases.

Mae, you ROCK! There is room for serious documentation, humor and even air guitar! Because...Murica!

Awesome episode! And yes the 1917 is quick to become a favorite rifle once you've spent some time with one. Have any info on the notched receiver that tends to pop up on 1917s that were probably given out for the second war? No indications of where mine went, just had an import mark behind the muzzle under the barrel. There's a few internet theories but none seem to get it completely right. Thanks again for your work, we appreciate all the effort you guys are putting in.

Great episode! Learning so much!

Yes! Number one US rifle on my must-have list!

As usual, loved it. Great to see an American gun, one that I've actually shot. The one you've got is in phenomenal shape, by the way. Out of curiosity, is it W, R, or E?

Looking forward to watching this when I get home tonight!
