Brillant work as usual

Anyone want to take bets on this mysterious "single-shot rifle" they had to make special arrangements to fire? I'm putting my money on anti-tank, a Mauser 1918 T-Gewehr! As a Canadian, thank you for covering our sad bastard baby of a rifle. And sorry.

Chris Henry

The Ross Mk III specifically is probably the strongest and smoothest straight pull. Complexity wise, the K31 is a bit simpler in my mind. Honestly I think straight pulls do just fine but require finer and more expensive machining in most cases.

How does a properly maintained Ross compare to other straight-pulls of the era? The bolt on my Hungarian M95 is a bitch and a half to put back together; seems like the entire concept just isn't as bulletproof as a regular bolt gun. I've never disassembled a Schmidt-Rubin or a Vetterli but I can't imagine getting the action to cam was any less complex (could be wrong though!)
