This election has the opportunity to prove without a shred of doubt that the democrats would rather have trump win than to even merely negotiate with the left. What do u call that other than a neofascist. Politicians in an already para fascist state, choosing what they perceive to be more overt protofascists instead of negotiating for leftist support to secure a win, in the most generous of possible interpretations, are at minimum far right

There seems to be an incredible traction on social media for left leaders who are outspoken about peace and ceasefire, like Chris Hedges and Cornel West. For example, Medea's interview on the Real News Network has about a million views. While it may be a stretch to assume the US would work with China on anything, it seems completely plausible that US would arrests its geopolitical interests in Ukraine.

On the point of the Ukrainian lobby in the US out-lobbying the Antiwar crowd it is important to note that the Ukrainian diaspora in the US voted overwhelmingly for Poroshenko whose slogan was Military, Language and Faith. I watch the analysis of Alexander Mercouris, and Judge Napolitano, and Scott Ritter and Jeffrey Sachs. The narrative is pro-Russian. I just looked at the election results for 2010 for Ukrainian president, it was stark; the east is 92% Yanukovych and the west is 93% his opponent. About a third of Ukraine speaks mostly Russian, it appears. The coup of 2014 was illegal, anti-democratic, it ousted Yanukovych, and prompted a secession election in the eastern part, that was successful but rejected as illegal by all the "western" political establishment. Subsequently about 14,000 eastern Ukrainians died from the civil war, a war for self-determination. It's a complicated issue. The U.S. anti-ballistic missiles in Poland and Romania do not help, Russians I suppose see them as we would see Chinese missiles on the Mexican and Canadian borders. U.S. money aided the 2014 coup d'etat. It looks like the recent "counter offensive" was a horrendous failure for Ukraine, and the war will continue as a slaughter of Ukrainians, unfortunately. There is good reason to pressure for peace, and I wish we had a movement. The western media is inept, but on the other hand it is very successful in creating a powerful anti-Russia story. It also appears that the U.S. torpedoed an April 2022 accord that would have ended the war! Putin held up the accord with signatures on it in a recent broadcast. Thanks for trying.
