Yes! Time for another beta. This time with some minor fixes, a new Unearthed Arcana, and a new feature!

Wait, what? Why a new feature, isn't that something to do after this is out of beta? Normally I would agree with you, but this feature was needed for a new campaign I'm playing in and what can I say... I am abusing my position to spend a day implementing a new feature instead of working on other stuff. I am sure most of you don't mind and some of you might even get some use out if it, because the new feature is support for the variant rule "Players Make All Rolls"!

Why not release v13 right now you ask? The answer is the same as for the previous three beta releases: I would like to (finally) have a website up and running where I can host it, with a dedicated way for bug reporting and frequently asked questions. You might have noticed that none of the bookmarks that link to my website work at the moment. I would like for that to be remedied before releasing v13 outside of this Patreon. I came a long way with making the website, but stopped working on it as I was putting more time and effort towards finishing the support for magic items. The website is working, it just needs contents, so that is what I’ll be focussing on next.



I understand how inconvenient the limitation on importing from betas has been and like to remedy this issue. Because beta14 through beta21 have no underlying changes in the fields or functions, it will be possible to import between beta14 through beta21 without issue. Also, you can expect to be able to import your character from beta14 through beta21 over to the final v13.

One caveat, if you are importing from a beta15 or beta16 that has a duplication error with the ability score increase from magic items, than that duplication error will also be brought over into this beta.

So please don’t hesitate to use this beta as your full character sheet, there shouldn’t be any issues bringing anything from it along over to the stable release of v13.

However, it still won’t be possible to import from betas older than beta14 (v13.0.0beta - v13.0.0beta13), as they do have different fields and/or functions that won't translate.

Great to hear! I'm not really following what you are describing as a new feature. Can you please elaborate? As I read it, you want to know how many spells of which level a certain level character would ideally have access to. This is very difficult, as the classes that have spells known generally allow you to switch a known spell each level and can choose lower level spells than the highest level of spell slots they have access to. Because this is so complex, the sheet just shows you the maximum level of spells you have access to.

Thank you. As for your other comment that I can't seem to find anymore, the "DC" issue in the colourful versions will be resolved in the next version of the sheet.

I am truly impressed with the work that has gone into these! Love them. A request? Would you consider redesigning or adding something in the spell selection section to show more clearly how many of what spell level we have at the current level? i.e. How many 1st, how many 2nd, etc.

Thank you for reporting any issues you find with the betas! You are correct, there is a problem on the Colourful versions of the sheet, where the spell save DC unnecessarily includes the text "DC". This will be fixed in the next beta.

Man, I love these sheets. I have been using them for years. I have come across an error on the Spells sheet. My character is a War Mage, level 2. On the spell sheet for Spell Save DC: the box says DC 1, and the rest is cut off. I believe that the DC in the box should not be there so only the number appears. I have a screen shot if that will help.

Did you mean Fighting Styles? Did you try the button on the 2nd page named "Choose Features"? Also note that the button will only be visible at a level that any feature offers a choice, thus not for a 1st level ranger.

Hi, too. There is no way to change the ranger's abilities, there are no battle styles. Am I doing something wrong somewhere?

I think you are going to have to be a bit more specific, I use several different programs to build these sheets. The main one being Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. What do you want to do?

As long as the new content doesn't introduce a ton of new features it is quite easy as fast to implement. Unlike the most recent Unearthed Arcana... The only downside is that I don't really have time left for other things, but I'm sure this speed of WotC releases is only temporary.

I think you are confusing the latest two UA releases with each other. The Fighter, Ranger, and Rogue article includes a subclass for each of those classes. The latest article, Class Feature Variants is the one you are thinking off and it I'm working on it for the next beta. Also note that I posted v13.0.0beta21 5 days before the latest UA was released...

Hey MPMB, Can't seem to find any of the options included with FRR in beta 21: No option to swap Ranger abilities, no new Fighting Styles, etc. Am I missing a step somewhere or am I just being dumb?

Thank you for reporting any issues you find with the betas! At first, I couldn't find what you were talking about because I figured the Spell Sheet should add "DC" before the spell save DC, but then I remembered that this shouldn't be the case on the Colourful sheets and I re-wrote the code to force it everywhere. So my apologies, this is the result of wanting to finish the beta just in time for dinner and I *forgot* about testing the changes on the Colourful versions of the sheet for convenience. You can expect this to be fixed in the next beta. Until then, you can use the Printer Friendly versions.

When I generate a spell sheet, the box that is supposed to show the spell save DC on that sheet now also shows the letters "DC" so that the actual value is invisible. Thanks for the great work!

This is indeed an error. The Kensei script was doing this wrong for the first weapon you selected, but correctly for anything after the first. This will also be fixed in the next version. Again, thank you for reporting any issues you find!

Not necessarily an error, but when I set a weapon as a Kensei choice, the sheet doesn't switch my attacks to be based on DEX on the front page.

A couple things for Nine Lives Stealer: Typo: Missing a close parentheses in the description here: "(and that is not a construct or undead" Error: The weapon isn't getting a +2 when it's added to the front page.

They will never become part of the sheets by default, because I only do that for official WotC published books and the Unearthed Arcana articles. However, there are import scripts for the different Plane Shift articles. You can most easily find them on the /r/mpmb subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/mpmb

I'm not sure what 'we' mean exactly, but did you already try setting the firearms from the DMG to be included using the Source Materials dialog, under 'Weapons'?
