Another beta update. This time not because of many changes, but because the latest Unearthed Arcana introduces something new– unlimited range Darkvision. The sheets were not ready for that…. But now they are!

On top of that, I went over the code to make sure that it wouldn’t cause older versions of Adobe Acrobat to crash. This doesn’t mean that you can use older versions of Adobe Acrobat with all the functions in the sheet, but at least now you won’t have to restart Acrobat once you open this sheet.

Why not release v13 right now you ask? The answer is the same as for the previous three beta releases: I would like to (finally) have a website up and running where I can host it, with a dedicated way for bug reporting and frequently asked questions. You might have noticed that none of the bookmarks that link to my website work at the moment. I would like for that to be remedied before releasing v13 outside of this Patreon. I came a long way with making the website, but stopped working on it as I was putting more time and effort towards finishing the support for magic items. The website is working, it just needs contents, so that is what I’ll be focussing on next.



I understand how inconvenient the limitation on importing from betas has been and like to remedy this issue. Because beta14 through beta20 have no underlying changes in the fields or functions, it will be possible to import between beta14 through beta20 without issue. Also, you can expect to be able to import your character from beta14 through beta20 over to the final v13.

One caveat, if you are importing from a beta15 or beta16 that has a duplication error with the ability score increase from magic items, than that duplication error will also be brought over into this beta.

So please don’t hesitate to use this beta as your full character sheet, there shouldn’t be any issues bringing anything from it along over to the stable release of v13.

However, it still won’t be possible to import from betas older than beta14 (v13.0.0beta - v13.0.0beta13), as they do have different fields and/or functions that won't translate.

Did you try the "Spell Options" bookmark? There should be an option to toggle Spell Points called "Use Spell Points instead of Spell Slots".

Thank you again for reporting any issues you find! As there is no real system for selecting the beads, but you just select the spells granted, there is no way for the sheet to automatically add another spell based on a spell selection. Thus, if you have a bead of curing, you will have to add two spells manually instead of just adding one spell manually. My initial intention of the spell selection dialog for the Necklace of Prayer Beads is that you select each spell once because there isn't much added use in selecting any of them twice. However, I can see how it is construed as requiring that. So I'll change that not only the first listing of every spell is changed to have a casting time of 1 bonus action. Good point about the Cure Wounds spell being cast at 2nd level, I forgot to include that in the code and will do so for the next version as well.

Some errors on the Necklace of Prayer Beads: The Curing bead doesn't automatically add both CW and Lesser Res. (the bead let's you use it as either). Also, the CW it adds is listed as level 1, but the Curing bead is a 2nd level CW. I added 2 Favor beads, and when the sheet generated, only the FIRST listing of the bead was changed to BA, the other was A. This is being done with a fresh copy of beta 20.

What did you set in your spell selection dialogue? What cantrips did you add and what spells did you set for the spellbook? And what did you select for the bottom right radio buttons? If this happens regardless of the cantrips/spells/radio button you select, it will be interesting to know what version of Adobe Acrobat you are using (Help >> About Acrobat). You are also welcome to send me (a link to) your sheet so that I can take a look for myself.

When I generate a Wizard spell sheet it walks me thru the normal dialogue but after it's all done it's a blank page with only the Character Name and Spell Slots section up top. Thoughts?

Adding a companion option like that is a lot of work, so please don't expect it to be part of the next beta. I'll put it on the wishlist of features that can be voted upon. However, a Phantom Steed is little else than a Riding Horse with 100 ft speed. You could just select a riding horse to the companion page and change its speed and you would be done.

I'm working on making it possible to do feature suggestions in Discord (and GitHub) and then have them tracked in GitHub. That way there is a listing of all the suggested features and more transparency on what I'm working on, all on a location that doesn't require you to log in or sign up. However, adding new features to the sheet is more about new functionality and not so much about content. Content you can already add yourself by writing the right import script. Although I love adding new content to the sheet's automation, making the content fit in the sheet nicely takes a lot of time. Because of that, I limit myself to WotC content. Any other material will not become part of the sheet by default, but might become available on my GitHub if a Sorcerer-tier or higher patron makes a request or on the /r/mpmb subreddit if a fan writes a script for it. To get additional content for the sheet that isn't yet available, you have three options: 1) Become a Sorcerer-tier (or higher) patron and I will make one addition for you each month; 2) Ask somebody else to write the content for you. Requests are best made over at the /r/mpmb subreddit ( https://reddit.com/r/mpmb ); 3) Write the script yourself using the syntax on my GitHub ( https://flapkan.com/mpmb/syntax ). Don't forget to check if somebody else has already made the content you are looking for. The /r/mpmb subreddit is the best place to look for it ( https://reddit.com/r/mpmb ). I'm positive that the Lost Notes have been transcribed already by someone, at least partly. In the past I have made some third-party content like the DMs Guild material by Matthew Mercer, but I currently have no plans of transcribing any other third-party material to be used with the sheet.

Hey there, quick question for you. On the companion page, could you add the option for generating Phantom Steed like you've done for Find Steed and Find Greater Steed? I ended up putting everything in manually for my character but if you had the time to do that whenever your next beta update or something comes out then that would be awesome :D Great job on the character sheets too, by the way. Far and away the easiest to use and most comprehensive character sheet I've seen for this game to date.

You are right, adding the charisma modifier is optional thus it would be unlikely that anybody would want to add a negative modifier. However, the sheet doesn't check for this, as in some cases it isn't optional and in most cases characters won't have a negative modifier in something like this (player's tend to avoid that). As a result, you will have to manually remove the addition of "Cha" to the initiative modifier field if you don't want it there.

It's been ages since I've hopped onto Patreon to actually comment. But you are a godsend with this amazing sheet. Quick question - I have a player wanting to use a subclass out of the Xanathar's Lost Notes to Everything Else from the DMs Guild Adept program. Where do we put in options to vote on for new features again?

I noticed that Rakish Audacity will add a negative CHA modifier to initiative. Based on the wording of the ability, specifically the use of the word ‘can’, I believe a swashbuckler with less than 10 CHA would have the option to ignore that ability. I’m not sure if the sheet can handle doing a CHA mod check before applying though.

The GitHub is already intended for bug reporting and feature requests, but nobody uses it, unfortunately. I should make it better known that those things should be done there, but even when I had everything in the sheet pointing there, I got a lot of questions from people who didn't understand GitHub.

More people have reported similar issues, like this post by another MPMB user here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/29161161 This is not caused by my PDF, but rather by settings of your machine. Some of those settings seem to be triggered by a recent Windows 10 update, but I'm not sure. Long story short, it is hard to point at the exact cause as different people have found different solutions. The things you could take a look at: - DPI scaling and accessibility setting in your operating system. - Settings or driver(s) for your GPU or other graphic adapters. You can test if it it would be changed by resetting the settings by booting your machine into safe mode and/or making another user on your machine and seeing if the same thing happens under that user account. One patron reported that the issue was only solved after a fresh install of Windows 10 (1903). Thus, you can always try that as the nuclear option.

Crossposting from the main beta page with a question- I downloaded the newest version today (13 beta 20) and now I'm having issues with the various drop down menus increasing in font size and closing suddenly. Any idea if this is connected to an issue with Adobe trying to load accessibility features (which it has never done before?) or an issue with the file itself? Can't seem to get it to fix itself. Thanks!

If you've not got the website stuff done, you could possibly do a github project that's literally just the Issue tracker, Wiki, and a github pages website - handles the hosting and bug reporting part of things, and you don't put any code etc on there so no legal issues (though ianal obviously) :-)

I have a question :D Once you are done with V13 and its out to the public, what will be your next big changes? Just curious :D Do you have any desires/plans past this version or will that just come as you go down the road?
