After a very lovely holiday in British Columbia, Canada, it is time to get back to business and update you all on the progress of the character sheet. This new beta version is again a small change since the last, this time fixing the magic item imports. I know, I know, I promised this the last two times, but this time it should really work as expected!

Other than those bug fixes, this beta introduces the content from the latest WotC source book: Acquisitions Incorporated.

Please be aware that the new type of character options called "Company Position" are not part of the character sheet. This is due to the fact that this is a new mechanic that the sheets are not equipped to deal with. Maybe something for a future update, if there is enough demand for it.

Why not release v13 right now you ask? The answer is the same as for the previous two beta releases: I would like to (finally) have a website up and running where I can host it, with a dedicated way for bug reporting and frequently asked questions. You might have noticed that none of the bookmarks that link to my website work at the moment. I would like for that to be remedied before releasing v13 outside of this Patreon. I came a long way with making the website, but stopped working on it as I was putting more time and effort towards finishing the support for magic items. The website is working, it just needs contents, so that is what I’ll be focussing on next.


Addition of Acquisitions Incorporated;



I understand how inconvenient the limitation on importing from betas has been and like to remedy this issue. Because beta14, beta15, beta16, and beta17 have no underlying changes in the fields or functions, it will be possible to import from beta14, beta15 and beta16 to beta17 without issue. Also, you can expect to be able to import your character from beta14, beta15, beta16, and beta17 over to the final v13.

One caveat, if you are importing from a beta15 or beta16 that has a duplication error with the ability score increase from magic items, than that duplication error will also be brought over into beta17.

So please don’t hesitate to use this beta as your full character sheet, there shouldn’t be any issues bringing anything from it along over to the stable release of v13.

However, it still won’t be possible to import from betas older than beta14 (v13.0.0beta - v13.0.0beta13), as they do have different fields and/or functions that won't translate.

Any other material will not become part of the sheet by default, but might become available on my GitHub if a Sorcerer-tier or higher patron makes a request or on the /r/mpmb subreddit if a fan writes a script for it. To get additional content for the sheet that isn't yet available, you have three options: 1) Become a Sorcerer-tier (or higher) patron and I will make one addition for you each month; 2) Ask somebody else to write the content for you. Requests are best made over at the /r/mpmb subreddit ( https://reddit.com/r/mpmb ); 3) Write the script yourself using the syntax on my GitHub ( https://flapkan.com/mpmb/syntax ). In the past I have made some third-party content like the DMs Guild material by Matthew Mercer, but I currently have no plans of transcribing any other third-party material to be used with the sheet.

Hi! Love your work! With the latest beta I wasn't able to make the companion sheet go away. I tried on the left with the bookmarks and I didn't see anything on the page for making it go away. This may be a new "feature" but I couldn't figure it out.

I do, you can expect it to be included in beta19. You can also grab it from the /r/mpmb subreddit and import it, the script is working with beta18 just as well.

Thank you for reporting any issues you find with the betas! It seems the issue stems from the fact that a warhammer is 2 lb, while a regular hammer is 3 lb. If you type in "hammer" it is recognized as a warhammer in the weapon and equipment section. This is intentional, because I want people to have options with their warhammer description (e.g. "Hammer of Smashing"). Opposed to if you would use the menu to add the gear, it is correctly recognizing a "hammer" as a piece of gear, thus giving 3 lb. When looking up the weight of things typed in the gear section the sheet looks through the list for armors, weapons, gear, and tools, in that order and tries to find the best match. Because a warhammer also matches 'hammer', it is now preferring the warhammer's weight over the regular hammer's weight. This is a hard thing to fix and I'm not sure that I can without losing other functionality. I will make the function that looks for a match a bit better at finding exact matches, so that when you type "hammer" it will match to the gear. However, as soon as you type something that is not an exact match (e.g. "rusty hammer"), it will default to the old behavious of matching it to the weapon. I think the real question is, why is a warhammer lighter than a regular hammer. I would expect the opposite, but I'm no expert of medieval weaponry ;)

Thank you for reporting any issues you find with the betas! Turns out the name of the Mariner's Armor isn't complete in its listing. It is included in the sheet, but you'll find it under just "Mariner's" in the magic items section. I'll make sure to correct its name to include "Armor" as well in the next version!

There is currently no support for feats having choices like the Martial Adept feat requires. This is not a bug, it is simply something that is not supported by the sheet. The reason for this is that this is the only feat that would require it and it would require some big changes in the sheet for that to be able. It will be on the list of new features to vote for once v13 comes out.

Thank you for reporting any issues you find with the betas! I can't find anything wrong with the Trident of Fish Command. Might you be referring to the listing on the spell sheet (and in the spell selection dialog) that casting Dominate Beast costs 1 of its charges? I can't find anywhere that it lists that it has 1 charge.

A small typo I noticed, when the Trident of Fish Command adds spells to the sheet it marks it as having 1 charge, this should be 3. (The item description text is correct)

Is it okay if I share the beta with my players? I was hoping we'd have version 13 by now and I really don't want to keep their own character sheets from them any longer :\ I did all their character creation for them since converting our world from 3.5 to 5e, and I've been using the beta sheets since they started becoming stable, but I told them a long time ago that they'd be in charge of updating their own sheets once they hit level 8. They're level 9 now :\

I'm not sure what you are getting at, can you please explain a bit more? As far as I'm aware, the Lore Master Wizard doesn't work any different than other archetypes of Wizard. You can cast the spells in your spellbook. You have to select the spells in your spellbook in the spell selection dialog before generating the spell sheet. However, you can set the option in the spell selection dialog to show all the spells, not just the ones in your spellbook, using the radio buttons in the lower right corner of the dialog.

I noticed that when i make a Lore Master Wizard it doesn't give me all the spells in the spells sheet. i can only pick spells before it populates.

Do you mean the Revised Ranger from the Unearthed Arcana articles? If so, it is already included in the beta (and v12.999 stable version) found through this Patreon. Simply enable its source in the Source Selection Dialog. You can open this dialog with the "Source Material" bookmark. All Unearthed Arcana content is disabled by default (in the left column), but you can enable all of it or just one or more articles (by moving it to the right column). Once the source "UA: The Ranger, Revised (UA:RR)" is enabled, you can no longer make a PHB ranger with the sheet, as it will use the rules for the revised ranger instead. The source selection dialog should be self-explanatory, but if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

This is intentional to save space in the Class Features section. The second attack is shown in the "Attacks per Action" section of the Colouful sheets or in the "Actions" section in the Printer Friendly sheets. None of the classes have their "Extra Attack" feature listed. This is also true for the "Ability Score Increases" feature.

The sheet does not include an option to automatically select attacks from spells, but you can manually add it. The reason for this is that the spell options are pretty endless and it would just clutter up the attack drop-down. You can change the damage value box with the modifier fields. These fields are hidden by default, but you can toggle their visibility with the "Modifiers" bookmark. That will give you the ability to set the damage to anything you like :)

Any chance of adding support for Arcanis 5e? From memory, the major differences are: * Val/Elorii would add some new race mechanics including: * Bloodrank as new attribute/counter that works differently (score 1-5 and no bonus) * some classes and subclasses have racial restrictions * Sorcerer and Ranger significantly different * 4 magic types (arcane, divine, primal, and psionic) - mostly straight-forward (primal = just more spells, psionic = similar to Mystic) except you can't multiclass any of them except psionic with either arcane or divine

For the Valor Bard the extra attack feature doesn't shows in the features section at the second page, it's shows on the Action section on the first page doe.

Is there a way to get the weapon summoned with the spell Shadow blade to show up in the attack section? I would just add it in manually, but you cannot change the damage value box. No big deal, I can write it in as I play with a printed sheet, but just thought I would ask if there was a trick I missed.

Thank you for reporting any issues you find with the betas! I have no problem selecting the traits/ideal/bond/flaw on the second page using the menu. Could it be that you didn't select a background on the first page before? Or maybe this is happening with a specific background. Can you tell me which background you are using? If you have this problem with every background, can you please answer me the following: 1) Can you tell me what type + version you are using (e.g. Colourful A4 v13.0.0beta18)? 2) Can you walk me through how to get the sheet to show this issue, starting with a freshly downloaded v13.0.0beta18? Thanks so much for the update! I noticed that the sheet isn't pulling background features or ideals/bonds/flaws on page 2 anymore. Not sure if that's a bug? It can still be manually filled out, but I don't get the selection menu with the appropriate background info.

Unfortunately, I can only make the dialog boxes a fixed size. They can't be dynamically resized based on your screen size. I made them all fit on a screen with at least 1000px vertical resolution. If your machine doesn't support them, then some are going to be cut off. note that you can always close the dialog with the ENTER key (confirm) or the ESC key (cancel).

I don't know why, but your pop-up dialog boxes are too big for my screen, so I often cannot click confirm when doing things like adjusting stats from the point buy menu

The sheets you download via this Patreon come with the WotC content pre-loaded. You can see which scripts are loaded by using the "Import/Export" bookmark and selecting to import a file. The dialog will display which script files are already loaded. You can manually add more scripts if you want to use other content than the WotC material. For example, if you want to use the Blood Hunter from Matthew Mercer, you will have to manually add the script for that.
