v13.0.0beta15

After working on very little else than transcribing magic items for the last six days and, really, every day that I had time to do so for the last six weeks, I am happy to announce that all magic items are now done! That is right, all official 5e published magic items are available in the sheet, see this Google Sheet for an overview. I did exclude all artifacts and some items that are just plot devices in adventures (e.g. unmovable things).

This brings us to beta15. It fixes the issues with beta14 and adds the rest of the magic items that were missing from it. Luckily, beta14 didn’t have any big issues that needed fixing, just a few small issues. All the reported problems were with the content (classes, magic items) and not with the functions. This is great news, because that means that I expect beta15 to be the last beta for now. Next up, v13!

With the addition of this many magic items, I fully expect that not all of them are working perfectly. Things might have gotten overlooked or might not work as intended. So please try out as many magic items as you find interesting and let me know if any of them don't do what they should.



Why not release v13 right now you ask? The answer is that I would like to (finally) have a website up and running where I can host it, with a dedicated way for bug reporting and frequently asked questions. You might have noticed that none of the bookmarks that link to my website work at the moment. I would like for that to be remedied before releasing v13 outside of this Patreon. I came a long way with making the website, but stopped working on it as I was putting more time and effort towards finishing the support for magic items. The website is working, it just needs contents, so that is what I’ll be focussing on next.

Also, I still have a lot of Sorcerer-tier and Soothsayer-tier rewards that I have to catch up on. I haven’t forgotten about you! I just wanted to finish the magic items and be able to work with the v13 syntax for future rewards. Work has already started on the backlog of rewards.




I understand how inconvenient the limitation on importing from betas has been and like to remedy this issue. Because beta14 and beta15 have no underlying changes in the fields or functions, it will be possible to import from beta14 to beta15 without issue. Also, you can expect to be able to import your character from both beta14 and beta15 over to the final v13.

So please don’t hesitate to use this beta as your full character sheet, there shouldn’t be any issues bringing anything from it along over to the stable release of v13.

However, it still won’t be possible to import from betas older than beta14 (v13.0.0beta - v13.0.0beta13), as they do have different fields and/or functions that won't translate.

Where should I report a bug? I tried the link from the sheet (Beta 15, the printer-friendly redesign) but it directs to a broken page. I'm trying to use a magic item (Storm Boomerang) as a weapon, and I can't get it to load into my attacks section. It correctly loads into the magic items and the attuned magic items section of my equipment, but I can't get it into my list of attacks. Is there something I'm missing?

Instrument of the Bards is not in the SRD, but is part of the DMG import to the sheet. You can find it in the drop-down box for Magic Items as long as you have the DMG source included in the Source Selection dialog. In the menu it is listed by the name of each instrument, e.g. "Cli Lyre".

Bug or Typo: Hovering over my Familiar's skills, the pop-up text states that Theme-colored identifies proficient skills whereas skills that have an asterisk beside them use expertise, however the inverse seems to be true with how the sheet calculates the bonuses.

I saw Instrument of the Bard on the Google Sheet, but I can't find it in the PDF. BUT on the DMG it says SRD only. So is it actually not in there?

Where can I submit a bug? With a Shepherd Druid, the "Spell modified" tooltip for my Conjure spells (Conjure Animals, Conjure Woodland Beings, Conjure Fey) shows the modified by "Mighty Summoner" but the description text is from the Life Cleric's Disciple of Life feature.

Nice work! Very minor bug. If you manually select a skill expertise then unselect it the proficiency goes too. Like I said, very minor and if you do it through the proper process it works fine. This is with the Bard.

The front page auto calculates when you put in the words 'Great Weapon Master', which is amazing, is there any way to get it to do that with a shorter phrase or just initials? GWM, etc.

Thank you for reporting any issues you find with the beta! Can you explain what you mean with "the slots are strange"? This is concerning the spell slots, I'm assuming. According to the PHB rules, a sorcerer 4/paladin 2 should have the same amount of spell slots as a 5th level full caster, thus 4×1st level, 3×2nd level, and 2×3rd level. This is exactly what the sheet shows for me, so I see no issue. What is the sheet showing for you? Can you tell me how to reproduce the issue?

I believe that the Wind Walk spell shows as having a casting time of 1 action on the sheet when it should be 1 minute.

Hello all, we are using MPMB Version 13 Beta 15 already and based on multi class Paladin 2 / Sorcerer 4 the slots are strange, there any reason for that? can we fix that?

Thank you for reporting any issues you find with the beta! You are correct, there is a discrepancy in where the magic items are placed when importing. I found the problem in the code. It seems I made all the magic items that require attunement be put on the overflow page, which is obviously not what is supposed to happen. I will make sure this is fixed in the next version!

There is no way to add more slots for things like magic items or feats, as the sheet is not set up to allow duplicating of those pages they appear on. It might be something for a future addition, but it would require too much re-writing of code to make it work for v13. So unfortunately you will have to do with the slots on the "Character Sheet Back", "Additional Page", and "Overflow Page" (on which of these 3 pages they appear depends on the type of sheet you are using Colourful/Printer Friendly). For feats this should be plenty, as all sheets have 8 spaces (9 on the Colourful A4) and no 20th level character can have more than 8 feats (variant human fighter 20).

When importing a b14 sheet the 1st magic item seems to get imported to page 4 (overflow), while the remaining get imported to page 3 as expected

Other than copying and pasting extra magic items and feats into the notes section is there a function to add extra spaces for feats and items I’ve missed. No issues with sheet so far love the update!
