Progress, the near future, and MPMB off to holiday for two weeks
Added 2018-01-26 15:46:52 +0000 UTCAs most of you probably know, having the sheets taken down from DMs Guild did a number on the plans I had for version 13 with magic item support. After the takedown the sheets were only available here on Patreon for almost three full months. This led to a lot of people who before got the sheets from DMs Guild to support this Patreon, for which I am very grateful. You all showed me how much you care about this sheet and motivate me to transform the sheet into something that has no copyright issues, while still catering to everybody’s needs. This turned out to take a lot longer than I had hoped, but v12.999 was the end result.
With v12.999 I was once again able to put the sheets online for free (at ENworld for now) and the rapid increase of new Patreon supports has since slowed down considerably. This is good news, because I have always wanted this tool to be available for everybody for free and the Patreon to be just for those people who want to show extra support. So thank you all for the extra support, it is much more than I had ever dreamed!
Backlog
I am proud to report that I have finally finished going through the backlog of things that were put on hold while working on v12.999. I know a lot of Sorcerer-tier patrons have had to wait several months for the content they had asked me for. I want to thank all of you for your patience and understanding. If you’re a Sorcerer-tier (or higher) patron and you haven’t gotten all your rewards yet, please let me know, I must have overlooked it!
A lot of you have reported on bugs they found with v12.999 and those bugs have all been fixed in the code, so they will not appear in v13. If you are interested, you can follow the progress on my GitHub repository.
Updated sheets and version numbers
Please note that even though no new numbered version of the sheet has come out since v12.999, the sheets are still being updated in the post here on Patreon and on the Dropbox and Google Drive (for Scholar-tier and higher). With the introduction of v12.999, most of the content of the sheets, all non-SRD content, is no longer part of base-code of the sheets. This means that I can update the content without needing to update the base-code. Thus, the version of the sheet is no longer indicative of what the content of the sheet is. I know this is confusing, so with v13 I will be changing how the versioning works, making it semantic. The version number will then be something like v13.00.01. The first four numbers will be the version of the base code, while the last two will be there to indicate minor changes like the updated content.
For finding out what content the v12.999 sheet uses, go to the Add Extra Materials bookmark and select Import a file with additional material. In the dialog that opens, you will see that a file named 'all-WotC_pub+UA.min.js' has been added with a date in front of it. This date is when the file was added. If the date does no correspond with the most recent date mentioned in this post, your version is not the most recent version.
This file is identical to the one found on the /r/mpmb subreddit top post under All Scripts Combined (Offical + UA) [Minified], which is taken from this GitHub repository. You can also manually update the script by importing it again from the GitHub repository as explained in the reddit post. That way you are sure to have the latest update for the content :)
Goals
The sudden new arrivals have blown not one, but three goals ($700, $1000, and $2000) out of the water while I was busy getting the sheets up and running again. I hope to make good on my promises, but being only a single person with a job and school (albeit both part-time), I can’t deliver everything at once.
If you have any good idea for the next goal, or even for the $2000 goal that just says ‘something huge’ I’m all ears!
Steps for the near future
1) Finish the website
2) Finish a beta version of v13 with magic item support for testing by you, the patrons!
3) Get help from the community to transcribe all the SRD magic items for use with the sheets.
4) Put up a poll with what next minor feature(s) to incorporate in v13.
5) Start working on multi-language support (this will be a project that will take several months, because I will have to rebuild most of the pages of the sheets from scratch).
6) Put up a poll with what next major feature to incorporate.
But first, time for a break!
I will be out of the country on holiday and to visit family for the next two weeks, so I won’t be very fast responding to comments, messages, or posts and probably will only be able to do so on my phone.
Comments
That is currently not possible and I'm not sure you would want that. For a lot of classes, that would cause the list of bonus actions to fill up really fast, leaving no room for class features.

2018-08-29 08:38:02 +0000 UTCWould it be possible to automatically add spells that have a casting time of a bonus action to the list of bonus actions on the first page?

2018-08-29 08:25:34 +0000 UTCThat is no problem and easy enough to do, I'll add it to the next version of the sheet!

2018-04-11 12:42:31 +0000 UTCAdding new content is no problem, that's why there is an import functionality and the syntax all written out. So if I can't do it for some reason, I'm sure the community will quickly make the additions. I honestly don't expect there will be much content from MToF that will be of interest to the sheet. Perhaps some options for companions/wild shape and maybe even for familiars or player races.

2018-04-11 12:42:09 +0000 UTCSo I am curious if you will be continuing development of this amazing sheet when Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes comes out... assuming there is anything substantial to add from the book. Thank you for all your hard work!

2018-04-10 22:25:40 +0000 UTCQuick Question/Request! <laugh> Would you mind adding "Owlbear" to the options on the companion sheet? =) Thank yoooou. </laugh>

2018-04-09 17:36:31 +0000 UTCThis is one of the things I have on the long wishlist of improvements. I hope to put what feature I will make next up for a vote very soon, but first I'm still working on getting v13 (magic items) done. I found some hard-to-fix bugs that are now taking up my development time and slowing the whole thing down. If more people are interested in having the spell slots be different, it will certainly get a lot of votes and be the next big addition to the sheet (after version 13)!

2018-04-08 07:46:42 +0000 UTCOn spellsheets, could you implement some kind of separation for Spellcasting slots versus Pact Magic (Warlock) slots? Because they recharge on different times, it would be helpful to separate the two types of slots. For example, right now, my Paladin 5/Warlock 1 has 4 bubbles with "Of 5" written beneath on his spellsheet in the Level 1 slot. But that's really 4 long rest (Spellcasting) slots and 1 short rest (Pact Magic) slots.

2018-04-02 14:31:27 +0000 UTCCan we get an update on v13?

2018-03-24 23:58:27 +0000 UTCThat's unfortunately not possible. Six places for resistance is what you are limited to, but you can write multiple in one box. I wish it was possible to design a character sheet that accommodates all theoretically possible character combinations, but I think six resistance slots is already a lot more than most characters would use.

2018-03-23 21:44:53 +0000 UTCIs there any way to add more Resistance boxes?
Erik T.
2018-03-23 17:52:55 +0000 UTCThey are not set to be included by default. You can enable them using the Source Material dialog and the Weapons/Attacks button therein.

2018-03-23 17:06:08 +0000 UTCI noticed the firearms (from the DMG) aren't in the weapons list.

2018-03-23 16:44:53 +0000 UTCThank you for your suggestion. This has actually been suggested a couple of weeks ago on ENworld. It would not be an easy thing to have the code do, but it is certainly something I could make. It would, however, only really be useful for spellcasters that have spells known and use the same ability score (so really only Bard/Sorcerer/Warlock and Eldritch Knight/Arcane Trickster). You wouldn't, for example, want your wizard's spellbook to be merged with your Arcane Trickster's known spells, because how would you know which ones to prepare and which ones you can cast as rituals? I have put this feature on the wishlist for after v13 is done :)

2018-03-22 10:22:07 +0000 UTCI have one thing I'd love to be able to do: Merge spell lists, if they use the same ability. Like, being able to merge my Warlock and Sorcerer spell lists, if I'm multiclassed.

2018-03-21 16:46:16 +0000 UTCOk, ignore this. I had the wrong version downloaded to this computer. Sorry about that.

2018-03-05 04:42:43 +0000 UTCNot sure if it has been mentioned, but the Woodelf race info is not in the most recent release.

2018-03-05 04:15:34 +0000 UTCWhere did you download v12.999 from? Was it <a href="https://www.patreon.com/posts/14927098">the download post here on Patreon</a>? If not, I recommend visiting and reading that post :) <a href="https://www.patreon.com/posts/14927098">https://www.patreon.com/posts/14927098</a>

2018-03-02 11:53:36 +0000 UTCi must be a little bit dumb but it seems my 12.999 is lacking most of it's content, am i missing anything?

2018-03-01 17:04:13 +0000 UTCThank you for reporting any issues you find with the sheet. The Artificer Wondrous Invention problem has now been fixed, see here for the fixed version: <a href="https://www.patreon.com/posts/14927098">https://www.patreon.com/posts/14927098</a>

2018-02-12 09:43:55 +0000 UTCi am getting a strange hang with the sheet, v 12.999 printer friendly version with the latest All Scripts Combined (Official + UA) imported, ive created a level 2 artificer and get a hang when i try to add the wonderous invention bag of holding though it seems to occur when adding any of them i think, but am not sure, that what the script does is add a line to the notes section of the sheet, then adds an entry in the magic items section (in this case a bag of holding) but it gets stuck when trying to do that second bit

2018-02-11 20:30:42 +0000 UTCA solution for this problem would be add your custom spells to the automation. Adding spells is relatively easy. Look for the syntax on my GitHub and use the /r/MPMB subreddit to your advantage. Having the sheet remember manually change things in the spell sheet is not really an option in the code. Adding something like that would be not only very complex, but would make spell sheet generation take a lot longer than it already does, and nobody wants that!

2018-01-29 08:23:09 +0000 UTCHave a wonderful holiday! I'd love the ability to write in custom spells in the blank spaces without having them erase the next time I generate a new spell sheet. My DM often uses spells from earlier editions that aren't available for 5e, so I need to write them in manually, but the manual page doesn't allow me to type them in and have the data stay put.

2018-01-29 06:27:01 +0000 UTCHave a good trip!

2018-01-26 15:59:06 +0000 UTCUse the colourful sheets, there all the skills have an Adv/Disadv box ;) The way Stealth is flagged with Disadvantage wouldn't work for all the skills, because there is simply no space for it on the Printer Friendly version
MorePurpleMoreBetter
2018-01-26 15:52:54 +0000 UTCOne idea: Would love to be able to flag all the skills with Advantage/Disadvantage, not just Stealth for armor penalties.
