Firearms from the DMG, add them to the sheet?
Added 2017-04-10 15:36:04 +0000 UTCBefore that is done, I would like to know one thing from you, concerning the firearms from the Dungeon Masters Guide.
The firearms from the DMG are currently available as additional content in the Fan-made Additions Dropbox Folder and GitHub folder. However, I'm toying with the idea of adding them to the sheet as then all WotC material will be available directly in the sheet.
Unfortunately, adding those firearms comes with a bit of a problem. Because they are optional rules, I feel that hey shouldn't be available in the sheet by default. Having them appear in the attack drop-down boxes and their ammo appear in the ammo drop-down boxes serves only to dilute the sheet and makes it even more confusing to newcomers. The alternative is to excluded them by default, just like the Unearthed Arcana material is, but this won't be as clear as you will only be able to see this when you click the "Weapons/Attacks" button in the Source Selection dialogue.
And as always with a difficult decision that doesn't have one correct answer, I'm coming to you!

Unfortunately your reply came after the poll was over and I had already published the new version of the sheet. The Gunslinger class is not something that is available for my sheets, so I don't know exactly what you are getting at. Maybe the Gunslinger archetype for Fighters by Matthew Mercer? Note that that subclass comes with its own rules for firearms and what we are talking about here are the firearms from the Dungeon Master's Guide, page 268. It is Matthew Mercer's intention that if you are using his Gunslinger Fighter Archetype, you shouldn't also use the firearms from the DMG. I have no plans for adding any 3rd-part material (i.e. non-WotC ) to the sheet, even as something that is excluded by default. That kind of stuff rightly belongs in the Fan-made Additions Dropbox Folder. Having sources excluded by default is my way of showing that those are optional rules. The same goes for the buttons that link to the different categories where you can exclude things (classes, races, etc.).

2017-04-12 09:44:28 +0000 UTCI say add them to the sheet, but create a new section under sources for optional rules, and include them alongside the gunslinger class (as two options to add). They aren't in the sheet, they can be added, and it isnt a huge amount of space script. Everyone wins :)

2017-04-11 22:52:14 +0000 UTCThe option you are describing is the third choice, "Put them in the sheet, but have them excluded by default (include with the "Weapons/Attack" button in the Source Selection dialogue)". Or do you mean that you can't vote any of the options because of a technical reason?

2017-04-10 16:19:20 +0000 UTCI don't know how to vote. Let them be accessible if desired, but not in default. No-one should ever assume they are available.
