What Comes Next

Whew, Towers of Heaven Book 3 took me 14 months to write, but thanks to your support I managed to finish it in the end. For the next week I'll be editing the book, fixing plot holes, continuity errors, and missing content (WALTER).

Now that Towers of Heaven is over, what's next? My next series (unnamed)!

I've been brainstorming this new world for many months now, and I'm super excited to begin writing it. After I'm done editing, I'll outline the plot a bit more than towers, or at least that's the plan. So in less than 2 weeks, I'll begin posting chapters on Patreon.

Here's a few tidbits on the next series, which I've teased a bit on my discord:

My next series, currently unnamed, is set in an alternate reality with game-like rules. Not Earth. I don't even think it will be a planet, more like planes, or dimensions. The land will be sprinkled with zones where monsters reside, separated from the rest of the world by transparent barriers. Most of the time humanoids can enter or leave at will, but monsters can't.

Not only that, there will be multiple 'dimensions', each connected to each other. For example, there'll be a dimension home to Yggdrasil, the mother of all elves. What can you expect from this dimension? Tons of nature and elemental monsters, boosts to nature-based skills, and plenty of fauna and forests. As its the main dimension of elves, they maintain complete control of the dimension and heavily protect it.

Humans, Elves, Dwarfs, Orcs, Demons, and more all have their own homeworld - a dimension under their complete control. Each homeworld connects to other dimensions, which is where adventure, trade, alliances, and war comes into play.

All monsters have a chance of dropping a monster egg or skill book. Both can be traded. Skill books are self explanatory, but monster eggs are a bit more complicated. Monsters eggs, once hatched, have two forms available. Combat form and item form. Take a regular bat monster, for example. In its combat form, it retains the strength and skills it had as a monster. In item form, it will become just that, an item. Let's say the bat takes the form of an earring. Once equipped, the wielder gains some stats, but most importantly, a skill unique to the bat, and in this case, sonar sense! But adventurers must be careful, because if their monster pet dies while in combat form or breaks while in item form, they're gone forever!

Consider this with the different dimensions. Elves, Orcs, and all the other species have monster eggs and skill books unique to their homeworld. Since these can be traded, its only natural for the economy to flourish.

Enough of that for now. Let's talk about the MC.

Upon turning 18 years of age, humanoids are granted a boon by the world based on their personality, beliefs, aspirations, or actions they made. Some might have systems, others classes or a special ability. The series will begin around the time the main character comes of age.

I've brainstormed a bit and this is what I have for him so far: His mother is one of the most powerful adventurers in the world, who also spoils the MC greatly. Others view the MC as a wasteful, spendthrift, prodigal son. He constantly shows off his wealth and invests in business ventures. What he loves most of all is collecting items. As this is a game-like world, all sorts of crazy and eccentric items are possible. A ring to summon a random meal every 12 hours? A necklace that cleans the body and emits a pleasant smell?  A glove that shoots fireballs? The MC wants them all. Rare books, wacky items, monster pets, he buys everything.

I wonder what boon the world will give the MC when he turns 18? What surprises and secrets await in this complicated world? Who knows, but one things for sure: whether it be elves, dwarfs, orcs, demons, or humans, they all want a larger piece of the pie that is the dimensional realms!!
