Quick update as to the state of book 3, and the delay in chapters.

Hi all, I'm not dead.

The short and sweet of the delay in getting chapters out is that burnout is a bitch, and it's caught up with me a lot faster than I had hoped it would. I've known for a while now that it was coming, but I had committed to at the very least finish book 3 of Hyperion before I committed to other projects.

The plan was to finish book 3, (where the first major overarching story ends) then put the series on hiatus while publishing a different book in the meantime.

I'm still going to do this, but finding the motivation to push towards the first of many finish lines has not been easy. I'm not going to bore you all with the messy details, but certain things kinda fucking suck right now, yeah?

For me, writing has been an escape, and I think it's been a healthy one. Recently it's not been so effective, but I've been working on fixing that. If you've been on the discord lately, you've almost certainly noticed that whenever I commit to a chapter release date, I miss it. This is because I'm scrapping what I'm writing.

It's not a great feeling to realise the last 2k words you struggled to put to paper are ass, and I know the last thing I want to do is push out slop that I'm not happy with.

Over the past week and a bit I've jumped back into the stories and media that inspired me to start writing to begin with, and I'm feeling mostly recharged and ready to get back to it. Gotta finish book 3 before we all die in nuclear hellfire.

TLDR: Burnout compounding with some personal issues are making actually writing the story I want to write extremely difficult.

See you all in a few days (tm).

Take the time to rest, you're the only one who can write your story.

Take care. Wrapping a project up tends to be a burn-out magnet.
