Outsider page 200

Wheee! This is the first page of chapter 3, which also happens to be page 200. How auspicious!

Thanks for your support in helping me to get to this milestone.

Chapter 3 will get a cover, but I'll post that sometime in the future.

Congrats on 200 pages!

Some 5-dimensional chess here. Had they actually decided that they want him dead - it's always as easy as a half a solon double-tap from Reed, or an even quicker hypothalamic effort from Fireblade.

Mk_C

So they are hiding Alec wearing Loroi outfit and headgear so that the Umiak might not see him as different entity but a dangerous Loroi to be target instead of capture... maybe

Kclcmdr Kai

Ooh, do we get to see Fireblade in real action?

Page 200 Arioch! Big milestone

This is getting kinda intense... I would not like to be seeing an Umiak ship from up close like that. I suppose 'act like debris' had to fail sometime. :o

Classical Salamander

Human? What human? It's just us Loroi here... didn't you know our males are pink and brown? ;p

probably just suited him up first and early, out of an abundance of caution, and because they won't have time to babysit him later if they need to move in a hurry.

Ronald Homer

Fireblade is back in her shiny combat gear, save helmet and amp. They are preparing for a sudden depressurization due to small arms fire and psychokinetic blasts.

Mk_C

fantastic work on the comic!

Jardin is like "don't get me wrong, all this physical contact is going to give me some very happy dreams for quite some time - but I wouldn't object to a hint being dropped."

Anthony Docimo

additional theory, they're pushing him outside ala River, so he's Outside the ship when its searched.

Michael Clancy

I note that Jardin is the only one so far wearing a helmet. Are they planning on hiding him somewhere there's vacuum?

Situation looks bleak. I’m a little surprised the Umiak didn’t just vaporize the shuttle on sight. Why wouldn’t they? They’re on a major offensive their leader seemed pretty confident would guarantee victory. Intel would seem to be my best guess. Perhaps they know it’s Admiral Fireblade’s yacht, or at least a yacht of some kind, and want a chance to scan its computers. Outside chance they’re just really frugal and don’t want to waste good salvage while the fleet gathers. That doesn’t feel right. More likely humans have something to do with their new Farsight evasion, what the unusual human resistance to telepathy, and for some reason the suspicion that another human could be on this yacht, and the need to know exactly how much the Loroi have and have not discovered outweighs simply vaporizing them and calling it a day. Since they are completely and totally in control outside, why not? If anything, a fleet with enough power to save them would just lead to the Umiak vaporizing the shuttle before they can get there to deny the asset. So what’s the Loroi plan? Maybe they have some stealth composites material or stealth escape pod deal, and could maybe launch that right as the remaining crew make a big distraction with a valiant last stand. On the off chance that worked, float there a while longer maybe even undetected until the fleet leaves and some sort of recovery force arrives? Alternately, maybe some sort of audacious walking around on the outside of ships to stall for time? Seems like they would have a lot of cameras watching the shuttle for anything like that. Alternatively, the story could just take a left turn. Alex could be like “I’ll never know what the Loroi planned to do with putting me in a space suit, because that’s when Umiak space marines easily killed them all and took me prisoner, where I’ve been dictating this story to you ever since. We should join the Umiak. The end.”

or I guess maybe they just have REALLY strong default 'protect the male' reflexes, and haven't invested the effort yet to specifically override that.

Ronald Homer

Huh. so, top three theories would be... Either they've recieved long-range telepathic communications that help is coming, and they just need to survive for a little bit longer.... Or they're planning to die gloriously in hand-to-hand combat..... Or they're going to try some sort of diplomatic barracks-lawyer shenanigan.....
