Outsider page 196

Have a Happy New Year, and thanks as always for your support!

I don't usually make a New Year's Resolution, but I'll make one this year: to get caught up everything I'm behind on, and to continue to improve Outsider page output.

Cheers!

Yes, the pages will be colored and posted to the website. I'm just a bit behind in getting that done.

Arioch

Speaking of your resolution,, are you going to color any of the more recent pages completely or keep them black and white?

Sphinxes

The plan is for more frequent updates.

Arioch

Any chance of more frequent updates in 2021 or is the monthly schedule going to be the rate we should expect to see?

Marm

Well, it sounds like you know more than I do. Was this talked about in an older post? I'm relatively new to the patreon group.

Todd Zircher

Talon continues being awesome. great work!

Anthony Docimo

Nice. The last few pages seemed like the perfect opportunity to introduce Crossfire, but for some reason I thought we wouldn't see it until chapter 3. Not that I'm complaining. FWIW, it's not clear to me whether Crossfire is still a three-person game or if Spiral is participating in the new game.

ESP

Nice. All that academy training is finally going to pay off

OH...listening to Alex's description about each turn of Crossfire having a variable amount of moves one could have during a turn.. perhaps since it is on a hexagon grid... with four central objectives, I started thinking about how that could be played like chess? Perhaps the three central objectives rotate around the centermost fourth objective, and as they rotate they 'change' the cost of movement into the intervening spaces closet to the rotating objectives? Also the closer you get to the four rotating objectives.. the board is numbered with a multiplier so your first move toward an objective is a 1 space so you only get that single move. But once you get a piece two spaces closer that second space is 2 multipling the number of pieces you can move? Kinda like as you get deeper into the 'gravity well' of the rotating objective locations the more pieces you get to move to secure the objectives and attack destroy your enemies pieces? Kind of like speeding up the deeper you get into the gravity well? The rotating objectives locations increase the cost of movement into the hex-face spaces by 1 per space you approach to them by... like having to plan your movement to adjust your thrust to slow down to reach them tactically?

I bet he will beat her 3 times in a row, making her loose her mind a bit.

Bogdan Elizarov

Now that's a resolution I can get behind!

Will C.

Heh, I hope you post the rules to Crossfire, would love to try my hand at that.

::police sirens:: "Sir you need to come with us". She's probably like 14, which IS adulthood for them! I'm just kidding, if she's on this ship, she's a graduate and thus an adult, she might even have had her first kid before being assigned to this billet.

Shane Wegner

If I'm reading that, the Barsam ship is jumping in, taking a quick look around, and jumping back out? Is that what "peeking back and forth" means? I guess jumping is relatively fast and cost effective.

Shane Wegner

I really love Spiral's smile... so inviting! :)
