"Got Milk?"

And now, at long last, it is time for THAT SCENE.

I just noticed the blue blush forming on her face. Excellent touch!

Jonathan Werts

No, now she's pissed he wants another person's milk!

GhostlyYorick

Thats a long way, plot-developments, and allot of build up to get to this situation to achieve this joke. Well done sir, very well done. I laughed hard at this.

Pinhead

...Tempo looks more promising at least. ;) I laughed out loud, thx for that

The Alex/Beryl Ship-O-Meterβ„’ is hitting eleven and three-quarters right now...

Alexander Caldwell

Engage panic mode, have to explain in 2 minutes about 14000 years of animal husbandry + how to make a perfect latte.

Olivier GRAVES

Now that one caught me off guard. I had a really good laugh.

Earl Tower

*splutter* Beautiful, Arioch. Perfect setup and execution.

The Loroi themselves are the only Soia-Liron species that resembles an Earth organism.

Arioch

Open not broken, with a tendril of milk forming our galaxy "The Milky Way", considering that it got it's name from the milk coming out of a goddess (Greek mythology).

Michael Pettersson

I have seen comedians from some minority groups working in the differences in their own cultural background into their routine. So, 20-30 years later an loroi immigrant on earth run a comedy show with jokes based on misunderstandings like this...

Michael Pettersson

I guess the Soia didn't bother to translate cows to their Soia lorien genome. In their defence, the cows didn't really exist when they paid our ancestors a visit. Later they domesticated something wild and breeded into the docile cows we today treat with such lovingly care (before we turn on the grill). Some of the meat, if any, in Alex stroganoff may come from cows. I also suspect that dogs didn't get translated either of basically the same reason. At some point Alex could be forced exactly WHY we call our galaxy "The Milky Way", in English at least. Here in Sweden, translated to English we name it "The Winter Street", I dunno why but I can guess.

Loving this scene🀣

Leonardo Taglialegne

I'm not sure exactly what you mean.

Arioch

While the ensuing hilarity is inevitable, it might be funnier if Alex knows why people drink milk, and how and why even lactose intolerant people can consume dairy. The Loroi's reaction to his explanation would also be pretty funny to see either way.

Mykola Stepchuk

Well at least we know what he will be talking about on page 176. Unless the chapter ends right here, which would be awkward but funny. Chapter 3! Cue the splash page showing the vastness of space, with an empty (and broken) bottle of milk.

Morgan Olson

As I understand it, it's relatively difficult to milk wild animals, or even domestic animals which are not specifically bred for milking (I've never tried to milk a cat, but I don't expect it would be easy.) There were no dairy animals among those Soia-Liron livestock that survived on Deinar, and the Loroi there never developed a tradition of dairy farming.

Arioch

Guess the Lorai never invented dairy farming. Must be a strange concept to drink the milk of other animals. Do they have wildlife that even produces milk like them? Alien mammals?
