The station (not the shuttle) was the original target of the torpedo attack; a few of the torpedoes acquired the shuttle, and the shuttle's presence may have interfered slightly with Gora Relay's defensive fire, but that was not decisive. A small battle station does not have the firepower to neutralize two divisions' worth of torpedoes, and let's not forget that those two divisions are still closing on the station. There was a reason that Gora Relay evacuated their support personnel, and there's nothing that Talon could have done to save the station.

The station is toast but hopefully the missiles spent so much fuel getting there that there is little left to act as warheads. If so, combined with the loroi practice of keeping the bridge deep in the interior of ship's (and possibly space stations) the crew may have some sort of chance for survival. With a bit of luck the enemy will ignore what is left of it for a while giving them some chance evacuating. Or perhaps the whole thing will explode Wintertidestyle.

36 solon - is that what, 30 - 40 seconds? And still nothing from the back of the shuttle? Even during the Human-Loroi cuddle session? :-/ At least the action has heated up.

Hope future pages explain if the station is fine or not. Interesting move, yes. Much better if you don't frag your allies with it, though.

Turns out the "do what you have to, so will I" line was more ominous than cocky.

Commitment to the mission, eh? More like Talon just want a chance to "grow up" and slug that Clearbrook commander...

No, no no. You're supposed to fly the torpedoes into the *enemy*.

I can appreciate her commitment to the stated mission of "Good relations with the 10 billion+ humans of this species is more important than your lives." But yeah who knows, maybe the station has good shields and armor. Then again, the were evacuating it, but that could have been because of the entire fleet, not one missile boat.

That's ... cold. Effective, though. And not like the station wouldn't get hit anyway, so ...

I believe the operative phrase is: "This is fine."
More seriously, the mssiles are presumably programmed not to waste themselves on tiny unimportant targets (relative to their capacity at least). So if these are 'anti-fighter' missiles with 'low yield' warheads, the larger better protected station might be able to endure a considerable number of impacts without serious damage.

My first impulse was to say “dick move” , but thinking about the situation this was likely what was going to happen anyway.
