Exclusive: 2G Phone Handmade Leather Case
Added 2024-08-04 17:08:28 +0000 UTCSharing just with you this little unboxing and look at a custom made case I ordered in leather and yellow suede to compliment my "new" Ericsson R520m from that recent video. (If they had offered a vegan leather I would have gone for that FWIW.)

Also an interesting little update: Since in that video I pled with T-Mobile not to shutdown 2G, and I showed how an IMEI hack was necessary to trick them into allowing old phones onto the network, several people have reported on Reddit that they suddenly have the strongest 2G signal they've seen, and how the IMEI hack is no longer necessary and vintage phones "just work" now.
I can't believe I am the cause of that... but then again it was exactly the aim of my addressing T-Mobile management in the video, so who knows.
On the other hand their status page that delayed the shutdown of 2G in the USA from April 2024 does now say this:
Capacity and coverage of T-Mobile's 2G (GSM) network is expected to change starting as early as September 1, 2024.
Maybe it'll change for the better! But I fear it will be for the worse. It's a strange set of circumstances ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
