Early turkey: 80s Computer Setup Xmas Redo

A very special and nostalgic video for today, as we right a wrong from a previous video. I shipped my actual teenage Commodore 64 computer desk 5000 miles from the UK for this one - can we get it set up just like it used to be, and load Ghostbusters just like Christmas 1984?

Hey a piece of carpet sounds like a cool project if the carpet is still there. One day if it gets ripped up, if that were me, I'd turn it into a rug for the new place! ;)

I can't believe you got that desk back. That is the ultimate shrine to childhood! If I were to attempt this, I'd have nothing but a piece of carpet and any TV in the house that I happened to connect the C64 to or inherit for my bedroom. In other words, I had no desk. I was a Commodore vagabond.

(I did eventually manage to buy another copy and play the game, FWIW! 😀)

Thanks for sharing this! I continue to be amazed at how many physical objects you've managed to keep hold of over the years... my childhood possessions were not so lucky. The part about the Ghostbusters game not working brought me back to a similar memory where I'd bought the Amiga game of Knightmare (based on the TV series) and was rushing home to play it and I got off the bus and tripped over a lump in the pavement and fell directly onto the box, squashing it like a pancake and damaging the disk beyond recovery. I remember feeling so defeated and deflated after having been so excited. Despite the negative emotions of the moment, it's nice to remember back to a time when I was able to be so excited about something as simple as playing a computer game of a TV show I enjoyed. Thanks for sharing what was clearly a very emotional moment, and helping me to recall something from my own childhood that I might not have thought about otherwise!
