Dear Supporters

1) New playlists: If you're stuck for something to watch over the holidays after The ЯRetro Show, I just added 3 new Playlists to the channel homepage!:

• Favourites: Vids we're proudest of
• Underrated: One we're fondest of but you might'vei missed!
• Nostalgic: Those special ones where we delve into the happiness of childhood nostalgia

2) Argos catalogues: For those from the UK who miss flicking through the Argos shop catalogue, or those from elsewhere who are intrigued by my various mentions of it on the channel, I've compiled a folder of PDF versions from the 80s for us all to flick through whenever we like. You'll find it here.

3) Memories: And finally, a funny thing happened the same day I finished editing that Back To The 80s video with all the nostalgic music in it, having spent that week going back into my memories and nostalgia rather deeply.

That night we sat down and decided to watch Disenchanted on Disney+ for unrelated reasons, knowing nothing about the plot. But if you haven't seen it, I don't think it's a spoiler to say that the film actually centres around a "Memory Tree" (pictured, top) which I found rather poignant in relation to what I'd just finished doing. If you have kids the movie is a must watch. The puppies loved it!

And I know this is cheesy but the lyrics of the main title song "Love Power" somehow seemed to be tapping into the same emotions so many of you shared with me in the comments. I dare say the song's writers, Alan Menkin and Stephen Schwartz (geniuses) might've been tapping into their own nostalgia when they came up with it, or perhaps they went on the same journey revisiting their childhoods years ago when they were our age. I wonder what computers they had if any... Anyway, if you watch it or listen to the end titles song, let me know if you agree.

Wishing you warm, Enchanted, cheesy holidays 😉 (Is cheese a liquid?)

Thank you Steven. Let me know if you buy anything from Argos 😉

I think that the playlists are a wonderful idea; in addition to giving us something to watch over the Christmas holiday, it'll also help new viewers to consume all the great content you've produced over the years as well as a great place for them to start with the "Favorites" section. Thank you so much for sharing the Argos catalogs with us as a download as well; I just downloaded them myself and will be looking through them at some point in the future. Being from the United States, I've never heard of Argos, but the catalogs remind me of the ones my parents used to get from Service Merchandise or even the Toys 'R Us catalogs that I used to pour over with a fine-tooth comb when I was a kid. 🙂 As for the song, after listening to it, I can definitely see what you mean in terms of its central theme of tapping into one's own nostalgia; it is most definitely a powerful musical composition. Thank you for sharing this post on Patreon with us, Peri, as well as all of its wonderful contents. Have a good one, and take care. 🙂

I think the playlists are a great idea! I have used your playlists many times when I have to reset my attitude to be in the right place. I love the fact you are doing an underrated playlist because I don't look at your numbers, it will be interesting for me to check that out. I certainly have my favorites that really hit me. I haven't watched, or heard of, Disenchanted but I will put it on my, Take-Time-to-Check-Out list. The song, like seemingly all Disney movies, has such incredible talent behind it. Those are some SERIOUS pipes. Back in my Army days, I would have Disney Soundtrack Tuesday which rarely went over well but I enjoyed it! :) Merry Christmas to my favorite people I have never actually met face to face but feel like you are an incredibly important part part of the family. Merry Retro Christmas!
