The warehouse in Maspeth was already unlocked when they arrived. Scratch and Pump couldn't believe how easy it'd been to get all their gear in and set up a makeshift stage. As they were setting up, they realized there were rusted old piles of gear from what looked like decades ago. Drum machines, synthesizers, compressors, amps - all growing moss and serving as homes for worms and mice. The gear formed a sort of mountain range of debris. The Cock Shotguns were running late as always, but the crowd was getting antsy. Pluck plugged his phone into the PA system and when Suicide came blasting from the speakers, all the old gear began to light up. Light up and perform. The machines filled the air with drum fills and synth lines of warehouse parties past. Arpeggios and claps filled out the stark post punk production creating an otherworldly disco remix that felt somehow unholy - undead. By the time Rock and Fuck of The Cock Shotguns finally pulled up, all they could hear from inside the warehouse were screams and thuds. The high windows by the ceiling - nearly two stories up - were coated in blood that was being pumped at them in a hose-like stream. Fuck put the van in reverse and Rock rolled a joint. They moved to Baltimore that night and never heard from Scratch, Pump, Pluck, or any of their New York friends ever again.
