Episode 15 Progress Update #4

Here's a summary of what my workflow for animations looks like:
-I pose and animate the characters, making sure everything fits together, lines up and loops properly. This is the main set-up.
-Test render everything to make sure it's all animated smoothly
-Render everything
-Take all of the renders and put the animation together, adding sound effects and making sure it's all synced up
-Export the file and convert it to the right format for the game
-Insert the code into the game so that it plays in all the right spots
Animating and posing the characters takes the most effort. Lots of stuff can go wrong and sometimes I have to scrap things when they don't work. Sometimes things look fine when they're rendered but look weird when you start to move. It kind of sucks when I waste a few hours but it's just the nature of getting things right. Rendering everything probably takes the longest in terms of time but it's something I can do overnight or AFK, which I try to do as much as I can to save time.
You probably could have assumed most of that for yourself. I just wanted to put it out there if it maybe gave you a better idea of what I'm busy with and calculate how long things should take.
All that being said, I'm done with most of the animations in terms of rendering though I try to be conservative. At the time this is being posted, my machine is currently rendering animations. I have more than half of the animations I need. Depending on scene flow, I might make a few more. Barring any setbacks or mistakes I didn't catch, I should have the bulk of the animations finished in terms of the main set-up by the end of the weekend, if not rendered completely..
There are a handful of renders I need to get to. The stats screen at the end of the episode hasn't been done yet but that usually doesn't take too long.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to the coding part like I wanted to this week. The good news is that next week is looking much better and I'll probably start writing as soon as Monday.
No more previews this progress update. I want everything to be a complete surprise at this point. And right off the bat at the start of the episode, there's something special I don't want to spoil. I'm doing my best to make sure the wait isn't much longer.
We're halfway through September. It's tough to balance between working as fast as I can to put the episode out and taking my time so it's not rushed and sloppy. When I choose between the two, as frustrating as it might be sometimes, I always choose to take my time. But I think I'm working at a good pace and the next half of September is going to be mostly putting the episode together.
I don't have much planned for this month outside of pushing to do as much as I can. I apologize in advance if I don't seem as active as I should be. I'm always available to send a message to. Thanks for everything, everybody. Take care and I'll see you next week.
