Philosophy #37 - Kissing

As I've said several times before, I'm always trying to improve in difference aspects of development. I don't know if it's apparent or not but I'd like to think that there is some noticeable improvement from episode to episode. I'm not talking about just from the early episodes to the most recent episodes. I'm talking about one episode to the episode immediately following.

Speaking on the girls and your relationship with them specifically, one of the things I'm trying to figure out is how to make them a little more special if you decide to pursue them. I know that it's all about getting them naked and then going all the way with them. Those are the big things. But I like to add small things, too. In this case, some kissing.

For me, kissing is important because it's a kind of nice, intimate moment. It's more than just a tease and some foreplay. It's the assurance that 'hey, I'm pursuing this girl and this kiss is an acknowledgement of that.' Even if it's just a single render, I think that single render can make a difference and boost a scene to make it feel more special.

This isn't just for AMFA. In every VN, you have to work your way to a girl's heart and make progress with her. I think kissing is important because it's that first step. They call it first base for a reason. To get there means you're on the right path.

I'm not just talking about kissing in sex scenes. I think a scene where you're just talking to a girl and you give her a goodnight kiss or kiss her goodbye can be special. It's that acknowledgement that you have a special and intimate relationship with her and it's outside the boundaries of a bedroom.

On sex scenes specifically, I try to add as much between the actual sex to keep the heat up. I think there's something that makes it extra spicy to get an extra kiss while you're getting down and dirty. It's not just foreplay. It's not just a tease. It's not just to get warmed-up. I think the kiss itself is like the perfect side-dish to the main course.

Looking at the bigger picture, going forward (and perhaps when I go back to re-do things after everything is done), I plan on making intimate scenes as erotic as possible by adding more and more... eroticism. Not just blowjobs and handjobs and penetration and kissing. All of these different things are connected to each other. I want to do my best to capture these intimate moments, especially since you're playing the game to get to these moments.

That's just one of my takes on kissing and sex scenes in general. I want to make these scenes as hot and spicy as I can in terms of really putting you into the moment. If it doesn't make any sense and if you want to take away anything from this, for me, kissing is special. So, I'm going to add more. Anyway, since you're reading this, let me know what you think. This isn't an official poll that'll change anything. Just curious to see if you have an opinion.

On Episode 15

Right now, I'm doing some different things with animations and trying new things. It's kinda kicking my butt right now. The thing is, I have to render animations to see if they work. And if they don't, I have to re-tool things and try again. The entire process can take a good amount of time. Things are going wonky and the reason why isn't apparent to me. The good news is that once I figure it out, it's done and it's not something I have to go back to. I want to have a good amount of animations for this episode, so there's no estimate on how long it'll take.

There are a couple of more renders (not counting re-renders and mistakes I spot in the editing process) that I have to do. I'm talking literally two or three images I have to render and pose. Renders are basically done. I'm in the very early stages of organizing and cleaning up images. I can start writing/coding as early as next week if things go well but who knows how long these animations will keep my hands full.

I'll be back next week with an official progress update. Hopefully, I'll have more of those bars filled. It's disappointing to me when I only fill it up a little from the previous update, so there's some extra motivation for me at least.
