Episode 12 Recap

Episode 12 Recap

Most of you have had a chance to play the latest episode. I wanted to do a recap to give you some insight. This is to give you some idea of what I was thinking when I wrote the episode and maybe help you see what's coming next

Theme

As the title of the episode indicates, the episode revolves entirely around Old Town. Even though you've already spent plenty of time there, I wanted to get even closer into it with characters you've already met to also get to know them better. This includes characters outside of your love interests like Alfie and RT Reynolds. At this point, I wanted to clearly define this part of town and what makes it distinct from the rest of the city. There's no better way to talk about an area than to talk about the people who live there.

Riley

Things are moving along slowly with Riley as usual. She didn't have a big presence in this episode but this was another piece that makes her who she is. Going forward, every scene with every female is going to continue adding depth to what's already there, even the small ones that you might notice. If nothing else, the addition to your handshake is an aspect I had fun with to help continue defining your friendship.

Kate

You have an upcoming meeting with Kate on the horizon. I wanted to get away from school for a second to talk about your personal relationship with her. If you're pursuing her, you're going to see your interactions taken to the next level, which her scene sets up. If you're not pursuing her, you're going to see your friendship continue to strengthen. It's not a big scene but it does reference what's going on in Kate's head outside of her school as well as adding more details about who she is, even if they're just little things about what she likes to do for fun. I think these little things all add up over time.

Harlow

Harlow has been through a lot. I don't want her to be defined by such a traumatic event like the accident, so I'll continue to move past it. I integrated her moving past it by setting-up what she could possibly move onto with your scene with her at the Old Town Shelter. I'm putting your relationship in prime position to move to the next level if you're pursuing her. If you're just friends, there's still much more about her to discover that's deeper than what you already know and this episode was hoping to illustrate that side of her.

Vanessa

Part of your journey with Vanessa is moving beyond her usual environment of Uptown. We started this with the comedy club in Midtown. This continues with the club in Old Town. I wanted to make Vanessa's storyline as interesting as I could while making it meaningful. A lot of these scenes with her are meant to have a light-hearted and comedic tone, even if you're not necessarily laughing. This is just establishing more of that dynamic. At the same time, this is another scene that pulls back a layer to who she really is and is relevant to her story, even though it might not be obvious at first. There are still other layers to get through but I think Old Town was important in giving her a striking idea of what she's not used to in hopes of expanding her horizons. There's obviously more to come with Vanessa.

Erika

This was an important episode for Erika. If you didn't catch it, I hinted at this in an important conversation with Jack from the Old Town Gym in the previous episode. I expanded on it in this episode while giving some insight to Old Town. Along with that, I revealed the rest of Erika's story in hopes of helping you understand what makes her tick. I've known who Erika was since the beginning. This is the story I always consider when I write her scenes and dialogue. From this point, I think your relationship is stronger and now it's set-up for the climax of her story and the rest of the game.

Lorelei

Along with the rest of the Chargers, I always gave them a story the same as everybody else. Making them generic bad guys was never my plan. I could have made Lorelei just a regular love interest that you sleep with as a one-off that you just sleep with in the spur of the moment. I wanted to do that because I thought it would be a hot scene but I also wanted to give some logic to the situation. Now that you know who she is along with the rest of her group, there's a foundation with her to build upon.

Summary

Overall, this is a very story-heavy episode. Even though I know everybody just wants to see what progress you make with the LIs as you continue your pursuits, I thought all of the big events were necessary. All of these scenes are a big piece of the puzzle of what comes next. Like I always say, everything is connected and all of the scenes in this episode are important pieces. Obviously, the Proving Grounds tournament plays a big part in the story and it will only grow as it continues.

I'm aware that the focus should be on the ladies because that's the most important thing. I just want to say that I hear you and I have big plans. I can't say when and where things are going to happen but with every episode, it becomes more concrete. I have several episodes ahead already planned. I'm going to treat these moments with the care they deserve after working and waiting so long to get there.

On Episode 13

I have some early scenes rendered but there's plenty of work to do. I won't have an official progress update for a few weeks since there's not much to report. The important thing you should know is that I'm working on it and everything seems to be going smooth so far.

That's all I have for now. I may have another poll soon along with the usual special renders. I have plans for at least one more philosophy post this month. If I have time, I'll get to some other renders while Episode 13 is in development.

Whether you're new or old, thank you for support. You're the reason this project is where it's at. If you have any questions or comments, send me a message. Thanks for everything and I'll talk to you soon.
