Episode 10 Recap

There are spoilers in this post and it's being made on the assumption that you've already played through the episode.

The first thing you should've noticed in Episode 10 is the appearance of the MC. Just to add more context if it weren't clear in the episode, it's been a few weeks since the previous episode. You've been spending all your time sleeping at Erika's and helping build the coffee shop. You haven't had much time to do much else, so you've neglected your appearance slightly.

The MC's appearance will continue to change over the course of the story. I'll do my best to make sure that it makes sense within the confines of the story. This is all a part of your journey. You're going to change as a person through different experiences. It only makes sense your appearance changes, too.

The Proving Grounds

The first two rounds of the PGs are over. I wanted to do a montage to establish the notable fighters and give everybody a chance to fight. It took a long time to render this scene because there are so many characters and a lot of positioning involved. I didn't have a lot of fun putting everything together because of how long and tedious it was. But I did have a lot of fun looking at the end result. There's plenty of action left at the PGs for you and the fights are going to get more intense. Everything at the PGs, as you've probably guessed by now, will play a big part in the story.

Saul

Saul's an important character and he's going to be more of a regular now that he's involved in a lot of different ways. What do you think of Saul? Do you trust him? Is he up to something?

Marisa

Marisa will always be an option to have sex with from time to time. It's been a bit in the story since you've seen her and it seemed appropriate since she's always up for it. During these intimate moments with her, I want to give you a chance to develop your relationship with her slightly and hint at something more if that's something you're interested in.

Erika

Your relationship with Erika both as a friendship and as a romance will continue to evolve with more experiences in and out of the PGs. For this episode, it was more of what you expected from her.

Kate

The focus of Kate's story will continue to revolve around her involvement with your thesis as well as the plot of saving the psychology department. There are plenty of fun scenes ahead if you're pursuing a romance. And there are plenty of big moments ahead even if you're not. Working for Kate also gives you a chance to interact with Sophia, who'll also make appearances from time to time.

Harlow

The progression with Harlow is supposed to be slow if you're romancing her. I thought what happened if you're pursuing her is a good payback for what happened all the way back in Episode 2. As mentioned in the episode, she watched you with Marisa. Now she got a chance to do it herself. I hope you're enjoying the buildup. Going even further with Harlow is on the horizon. I understand how important it will be, so I'm already planning all of the details even though it won't necessarily happen in the next episode.

Vanessa

Your relationship with Vanessa took the next step, even though it's not exactly what you might have expected. I have a lot planned for your new deal and arrangement. It's going to be a lot of fun for a bunch of different reasons. I've had this planned for a long time, so it's nice to finally get to this point even though a lot more is going to happen.

If you plan on pursuing Vanessa, just know that she won't be so easy. You probably already guessed that though.

If you don't plan on pursuing Vanessa, I still plan on making the experience enjoyable with the events that happen. The entire story is supposed to have a certain sense of ridiculousness to it and I think the time was appropriate for you to have a new arrangement with Vanessa.

Riley

All the way back when I was outlining the entire story back in Episode 1, I planned on this situation with asking Riley to go out. This is both for a romance and a friendship. I can't say what happens next obviously. I've been planning on what happens next for a long time and you're going to see those plans slowly unfold as your relationship evolves. I know people are still frustrated about not making any progress with her but I hope this makes you feel like you're not stuck in the mud at least.

Episode 10 is a short episode but I wanted to set the table for what's going to happen. As I mentioned in a previous post, this is sort of like the end of Season 1/start of Season 2. Think of it like a season premiere for what's going to happen in the rest of the season. Now that we've established some things, we can take the plot and go forward from there as the plot continues to roll along.

Going by the image above, we're past the point of establishing goals. Now it's time to start getting things done. I don't know how long it will take but I have most of the major plot points planned out all the way to the end. Things are always subject to change, of course.
