Philosophy | The Choice I Made For You

There are choices in this game. But all of the choices you make are going to lead to a choice I've already made for you. These are big choices that revolve around the story and the MC.

Specifically, I wanted to tell the story of an MC who's good. Someone kind and caring. Someone people could look up to and admire. Someone who doesn't turn their back when they're faced with adversity. Someone who tries to fight against the odds. Someone who tries to do the right thing even if it might be against their own interests. He's not that complicated, deep or even that original in terms of design. He's supposed to be a hero. I've disregarded whatever the opposite might be.

I'd like to think in creating that MC, I've given the player some leeway in that MC's personality. He can be funny or charming. He can play it cool or be violent. But he's always going to be the same man he's meant to be. He's always going to do what's right, even at the cost of his own self-interests. That's why you put up with Vanessa. That's why you fight for Erika. That's why you don't hold it against Riley for not rushing into a relationship. That's why you're doing everything you can to save Billy's coffee shop.

You have to decide whether that's the man that you want to be if you're going to continue or even start the game. It's the most important choice you can make, which is accepting that I already made the choice for you. You can either be the hero that I envision you to be. Or you can decide for yourself that you'd rather not give me that control.

My goal is for you to enjoy being that guy and all of my effort is in being an ultimate version of an MC where you can choose the smaller details of his journey. I understand if my vision of what the MC should be doesn't match yours. And if you are playing this game and you decide the MC you're becoming isn't who you want to be in this story, then I've failed and I'm sorry for that.

I'm piloting this story and your journey. My goal is for you to triumph against the odds. I want for you to bang as many women as you want to. I have a story I want to tell. I believe in what I'm doing.

I've said before that I don't want to punish anybody for making decisions. That still stands. You are the MC of this story. Now that you've given me your trust and allowed yourself to be taken on this journey, it's my responsibility to not let you down. You've made the biggest choice that matters in trusting me. Now I have to make sure it pays off in the end. That remains to be seen. I'm trying my hardest. Like all of these posts I make, I always try to leave you with a clear and concise takeaway. For this post, my point is a thank you for allowing me to decide who you, the MC, are.

What do you think about stepping into the role of the MC so far? Are you okay with all of the decisions that have been made for you? I know you have different feelings about everything in the story. On Episode 8

The episode is just about complete. For the coding, the last thing I need to do is place a few music tracks and sound effects then make sure everything plays at the right spot. Then I need to double-check the choices to make sure they're saved. After that, I want to do a few last runs just to catch any mistakes I might have missed. Sometimes I catch things at the last second, so I don't want to rush it. I know it's frustrating waiting but I don't want to catch anything that I might have to immediately go back and fix. I'm paranoid about bugs that break things. I want you to have the full experience without having to download something again. No timetable but soon.
