Philosophy - The Little Things

Philosophy - The Little Things

I talked before about the things I was adding depending on whether or not you pursue a girl. Now that there are some examples for you to see for yourself, I thought I'd expand on it a little.

The above image is the two endings to the scene at the Proving Grounds in the last episode. If you're pursuing Erika, you leave holding hands with her. If not, you just leave as friends in conversation.

I know that the important thing in a romance is whether or not you have sex with them. That's where most of my focus is. But I want to add extra things to make that romance more special. That includes a few lines of dialogue that will be different. And then there are different scenes like the one with Erika above.

It's not a lot. It's just one different render compared to another. But I think adding an extra render here and there will make pursuing a girl more special than it already should be. Eventually, I hope that all of these moments add up and help make it feel like you're in a relationship with a girl.

One of the tricky things I'm dealing with is managing the differences between a friendship and a romance. Sometimes it can seem off when you're pursuing a girl and she's talking to you like you're a friend or when you're not pursuing a girl and she might seem like she's into you. By adding simple scenes like holding hands and a few different lines of dialogue, maybe the relationships will be more immersive for what you're looking for.

As usual, if none of this makes sense, just know that it makes sense to me. I can't promise I'll deliver. But as the game goes on, I hope that the girl you choose truly feels more and more like your girl. It's just a little thing but it's there.

If you have any questions, opinions or suggestions about the little things, feel free to comment.

On Episode 7

I got a good amount of renders done this week. The renders look pretty good and I've gotten some scenes finished.

There's a big scene at the end of this episode. It's not as big as the party but it's important and eventful. I'm trying not to fall into the trap of doing too much, so I'll be trimming the episode and moving things around when needed.

For what it's worth, the party scene alone took a few months to render, so I don't anticipate that happening again because there won't be as many interactions.

There are a few new locations in this episode. Hopefully they don't take too long to build.

I'm going to make sure the important stuff that needs to happen in this episode happens. I'll have an official update with the first progress report and preview either at the end of March or the start of April.

Thank you so much for your continued support. It means a lot to me that you care enough to contribute to development. I'll do my best not to let you down.

I plan on getting a lot of work done this weekend. Take care and have a good weekend. I'll talk to you all next week.
