Philosophy | Consequences

Philosophy | Consequences

Consequences come up a lot when talking about visual novels. In dating sims, there are always multiple love interests to choose from and it very quickly becomes a balancing act. AMFA is not an exception.

I have a certain approach to everything and I can't give everything away for two reasons. The first is that not everything has happened yet. And the second is for spoilers. I can still give you some assurances and explain the philosophy of my general approach.

First off, there are no 'wrong' decisions. Consequences always seem to have a negative connotation in the context of a VN even though it's not a negative word itself. When I say consequences, I mean the results of your actions. In this game, if you like a girl, you can pursue her. And if you like more than one, you're free to do that, too. It will be very clear what path you're going down. There will be different results depending on which path you take.

There are three general paths available to you.

The first is every girl in a harem. You can pick and choose which girls you want, whether it's just two girls or everybody. Every girl more than one is considered a path with multiple women. If you choose that path, you're moving down a path with multiple relationships.

However...

Choosing a harem path means you won't be going down a solo path. Obvious, right? If you're picking multiple girls, you're not picking one. Is there a difference? Yes.

Things will be different if you choose only one girl instead of multiple girls. So, if there's only one girl you like, or if you decide you don't want everybody and want to focus on one girl, that option is available to you. You will be rewarded for only choosing one girl. But more importantly, you won't be punished for choosing multiple girls. Again, no wrong decisions. Just the results will be different.

And then there's the third path, which I don't think anybody will choose, but it's there. And that path is nobody at all.

My philosophy on the MC is that he has a job to do. He has a reason for going to every part of Sol City. Getting laid is always an optional decision. What's not optional is doing your job. And as far as the girls go, you'll still have relationships with them. You're strangers. And over time, you'll develop bonds and friendships. If you decide not to have a harem or pick even a single girl, you can fly solo.

Every girl. Some girls. One girl. No girls. Those are your options. All of them will have different outcomes. Do what you want to do.

I know everything that's going to happen and how I've planned everything. It all makes sense to me. If it doesn't make sense to you, don't think too much about it. If you're worried, don't be. And if you still care, feel free to ask me any questions you might have and I'll be happy to answer them. I'll probably elaborate more on this and why I'm doing it in a future post. I don't want to make this wall any bigger than it is.

My advice? Just pick the girl (or girls) you like. If you care about her, everything will work out.

On Episode 006

I've got a few more sequences to render in the big scene I keep talking about. Once that's done, there are just a few shorter scenes to get through. I've got a lot of free time this weekend, so I'm going to do as much as I can to get through this scene. I hope that by the next official update next week, I'll have the scene done and I can talk about finishing renders on the rest of the episode. I'll go into more details then.

Thanks for hanging around. Like always, if you have any questions or comments, let me know. I appreciate you all. Take care of yourselves and I'll see you next week.
