I've already said this before but I have to say it again just as a reminder to myself. The biggest thing in a porn game is the sex. It's the ultimate culmination of everything you've done up to this point. I know how it works.

And last time, I talked about the other things. There's more to it than sex. There's kissing and hugging and holding hands and dreamy looks into one another's eyes. All of that needs to be there to make the end goal even more satisfying.

But what if you're not interested in a girl? What if you're just going along with a girl because you're forced to in the story? Sometimes you like a girl more than the others. Maybe you want to be faithful.

I took a lot into consideration when I was constructing the relationships of every girl. Looking at it one way, there are different tiers for everything you do in a relationship. Let's say sex is at the top. Below that, you have all of the lovey-dovey romantic stuff. But even below that, there's something else. There's a foundation.

What's the foundation? The foundation is just an ordinary relationship. A regular friendship. Now, some of the characters you're not the best of friends with. If you look at it one way, the MC and the girls are brought together by circumstances. That's what I'm focused on. That's what I'm developing. You don't have to romance and flirt with every girl you meet. But you do you have to have some type of relationship with her. If you decide you're not into a girl, I want it to still be rewarding having her a part of the MC's story.

Some people don't like certain characters. Some people hate being forced to do certain things. On this, I want to say that there are varying degrees of a relationship. Just because the MC's doing something for a girl doesn't make him a cuck or a simp or a slave or a masochist or a pushover. He's just an honest guy, who's not trying to be an asshole. The MC is not dealing with anybody he can't handle.

If you don't like the personalities of some girls or how the storylines are going, you're free to feel that way. If you're down on any girl because of her personality, you won't be allowed to justify that behavior by responding the same way. In other games, you can do that. Not in this one. And it's that way for two reasons. The first is practicality. I can't write for every type of situation and write certain characters and stories out completely. I just don't have the resources to do that. The second is that every story is pertinent. It might not make sense now but I plan on having it make sense eventually.

Which brings me back to what I was talking about in the beginning. We're all here for the sex. But I'm writing all of these girls on the foundation of a friendship. I know a lot of people don't care about those aspects. Sometimes when you're playing a VN, if you're not pursuing a girl, you're just not interested in her story. I'm totally cool with that. For those of you who do care, I just want you to know that I'm putting effort into it regardless. You might not like a girl but hey, you can at least be friends. And that's my approach to every girl.

I'm making steady progress as usual. I should have the first progress update by the end of October. I'm rendering as much as I can. I have to build a couple of new sets and there are some big scenes coming up. I don't really have much else to say on that.
