Ep. 3 Progress Update | Character Profile: Riley

Hey, everybody.

I'm not posting the progress image because it hasn't changed. I want to try to give you all weekly updates even if there might not be much progress to report. But there is progress, so that's a good thing, even though the progress bars didn't move. Last week, I'd say I was about 80% through renders. Now I'm closer to 90%.

The ending scenes are a lot longer than I anticipated. That means I have to do more renders than I was expecting to. I also had to re-render some scenes because I wasn't paying attention to some details.

No promises, but I should have the bulk of the remaining renders this weekend, and I can move on to some animations and coding. I've got some other things planned. No spoilers though, so you'll just have to wait and see.

Character Profile: Riley

For those of you who are interested, I want to offer all of you more insight into the characters. I've been putting this off for a bit but figured now was a good time to go over this now that the characters and your initial relationships with them have been established.

For Riley's model, I needed someone who stood out. There were a few models in the running, but I settled on Riley's final design because I thought she was pretty and unique. I needed someone striking but also the girl-next-door. Someone pretty but down-to-earth.

You, the MC, knew Riley back in high school even though the two of you never had any kind of relationship. Over the course of the story, there will be more insight into your past in Los Setos. That will go along with your developing relationship with her.

As you can see, you're working together with Riley to help out Billy, with most of it happening in Midtown. From that, your relationship will turn into something more. You had a crush on her in high school. You can't change that part of the story. But how far you go with her now will be up to you. Her story is mapped out but there can always be changes.

I don't want to say anything more to avoid even a hint of spoilers. I will say that I'm personally excited about Riley's storyline and what's going to happen. Then again, I'm excited about everybody's storyline.
