πŸ₯° A really nice article, I hope it's OK for me to share this link on here? https://ca.news.yahoo.com/two-dig-could-lead-interesting-050225368.html

You also have to admire Basil Brown for his post-excavation conservation. Had he not planned ahead there would have been less resources to find again after the war.

Really enjoyed this - and Helen & Tony's pub chat. It's super being 'part of the family', and in on the plotting and planning stage. Helen's enthusiasm is SO infectious - what a smashing lass.

Susie Stockton-Link

Thanks, Julianne. I'd also love to see the other TV projects if you can offer any titles to search. Cheers

And this is a real family gathering! Angus and Helen are married, and Martin was her PhD advisor. I’m pretty sure this is the first time Angus has appeared on Time Team (he and Helen have done other TV projects together).

Ground truthing??! In times gone by I have seen Tony having arguments with Mick etc, about not digging and leaving something for "future generations", and I agree with his frustration, which now seems to have moderated. A question to throw out there for fellow Teamers and more learned people than myself. If John and his wizard stuff had detected the UNDUG Sutton Hoo in all its glory, with boat, tree nails and goodies clearly shown, today, would we still be talking about leaving it in the ground for future generations?

I’m just loving this - and thanks for giving us all this extra content! I’m trying like crazy to get others on to Patreon!

Hi Terri. I'm thrilled as well. 😁 Helen's education, experience & passion coupled with Tony's enthusiastic thirst for knowledge add context and set the tone for what will be a momentous & exciting month of all things Sutton Hoo. I still can't believe it...

Patricia Amero

I have to admit - seeing Tony and Helen here, thrills my heart. Love to see they are out there truthing away with such enthusiasm again!

Terri

100% ...like we were sitting at the table with them.

Patricia Amero

"Ground truthing..." couldn't be more appropriate. This carefully considered plan makes sense.

Patricia Amero

Looks exciting, I cannot wait

Richard Kennett

Gater laying down his own rules for a change. Love it. And Tony has definitely mellowed. He used to hate digging up existing trenches. Haha.

George McCluskey

Awwww, I can feel Tony’s hackles rising! Ground truthing? Push β€˜em Sir Knight, push β€˜em!

Steve Gunning

Awesome work Time Team.. can't wait for more!

Love this discussion.

Depending on what is found when exploring the area of the service 'line' near the lower left is there a good reason not to explore that whole line?

Jim Sales

From the geophysics alone, this promises to be a very productive and potentially historic dig

When I joined up in 2020 I never thought it would be this good.

Looked great on the live

I really felt a part of the discussion. This a wonderful addition to the normal/ usual way of delivering a TV programme. We are very privileged to be involved like this.
