A Time Team Christmas: Secret Santa (2023)

All I want for Christmas is... a potato clock?

With just a few days to go before the big day, we hope you've done all your Christmas shopping. If not, the team are on hand for some inspiration in our virtual Secret Santa!

We asked the team what they would get each other, but shhh... don't tell them.

If you had to get a present for any member of Time Team throughout the years, who would it be and what would you get them? Let us know in the comments...

(We're going to get Lawrence some puppy training lessons.)

I would like all of the Time Team gang ….. Phil Harding as a consultant on the trenches and digs they do in the future 🤣🤣⚔️

Andrew Lamb

I briefly thought Dani might say she'd buy Naomi her own field to grow all the potatoes she wants 🤣 (I love potatoes too)

Charlotte Edmonds

I’d like to give Phil a frame for his cut off jean shorts! They should be preserved and on display. Love those.

Lara Keefe

What a lovely clip. Well done all. But what is Hilde going to get Matt? To be honest the only thing I can give them (other than an ongoing Patreon subscription) is my enduring respect and thanks for bringing us so much interesting content across the range of sites they investigate.

David Cadogan-Cowper

i would like to give Tim Taylor a never giving-up award where Time Team is loved around the world! Thank You 🌲 Also id like to get Stewart a new bike, i think your part of archeology is fascinating, 🌲 God bless to all 🥰

Catherine Bellotti

Did Derek get anything? Not sure if the villainous 'stache was a gift or not! Let's give him back his beard!

Mac Whatley

Loving the Christmas wish Secret Santa ideas for all you awesome archeologists. Much love and best wishes from Canada to each and everyone of you! Some great Secret Santa ideas tied together with love, respect and delight for each other, when we need this warm energy more than ever. With everyone's sharing time I was surprised with spontaneous aughter burst out of me surprising & tickling my ribs. Lovely to see and remember you at this time of year as your lovely people. I like to think we are related with my British born mum and grandparents.I agree with Tony re Nicely trimmed beards and grooming of eyebrows and nose hairs matter to us women folks. Looking well groomed raises everyone's esteem at first glance; yet the older we grow the wilder our features become, if we allow wildness into our lives.

Rubys Rose

I’d get them all an insulated tent to put over their trenches to keep them dry and warm when digging in “Time Team” weather. I love seeing when a tent suddenly grows legs and walks off in the background of a Time Team interview!

Ann Wagner

Comfortable shoes for everyone, and knee pads for all diggers.

Beth

And a lot of beer.

Beth

That was brilliant. How fun to share your experiences and knowledge of your dear teammates. I would have loved to be at one of your after work pub sessions.

Robin Smith

I love that this something more silly and fun than the usual videos. occasional things like this are much appreciated.

Frank Pellow

For Phil Harding, a beer brewing kit so that he could make a selection of his favorite brews to take on some of his digs.

Bede Browne

For Matt, I would get him his own "volunteer" to do the re enactments he use to have to do.

Alan Murdock

Great bunch of people, you time team archeology folks! May your secret Santas be kind as well as entertaining. Have a wonderful holiday season and we expect to see you in the new year.

Mary Lu Perham

a t-shirt that has lots of colorful stripes and a picture of Mick on the back

Stephen Rich

Since the team often have to work outside in pretty lousy weather, I would knit them hats and cowls to keep warm. In real wool, because that is warmer than acrylic. Not so sure about gloves, I think even fingerless mittens might get in the way while digging, but maybe they'd be good to have on particularly wet and miserable days? I still want to knit Naomi a stripey sweater, too...

Corellia S

He certainly did have a marvelous smile, but that black hat… 🤣. Haven’t seen anything from/about him since the original show ended.

Vickie Betts

Merry Christmas to everyone!

Vickie Betts

Jolly good ideas amongst the ever-brillilant Time Team. But I'd want to include some "full crew" in my Secret Santa, finding just the right Hat for Dr. Ian Powlesland, last glimpsed in Season 20, and more recently with his university excavation crew. I miss you Ian--that smile, oh, my, that smile!!

Martha Berryman

I would send Phil some new feathers, turkey feathers, for his hat.

Candance Reaves

I so love Tony's present to Carenza. But to Tony himself, I would have to gift a previously unknown Roman mosaic pavement.

Wessex-Wyvern

and a lifetime supply of cutoff shorts.

Julianne Ture

That was a lot of fun to watch...🎄🎁

Steve Mikre

Thanks TT for a festive treat. Merry Christmas (and a Happy Solstice) to all!

Justin Freeman

I’d get Phil a new hat. And maybe make it an annually recurring gift. 😁
