TSPS Episode 643 – Manhole Covers

In today’s show you’ll hear me use the term “manhole” about a dozen times without once turning it into an immature sexual joke. You’ll also hear a terrible clipping/crackling noise every few minutes that’s due to this temporary mixer that I’m using while out of town. At least my voice isn’t all fuzzy like in the last show. This show marks the official end of the lower quality 64kbps shows. I’ve kept those around forever because sometimes people would complain that it took too long to download the high quality 192kbps shows. But come on, it’s 2020. You should all be able to handle the larger file sizes at this point. I’m considering switching permanently to 160kbps. Personally I can barely hear the difference between any of these, but I know some of you claim you can. I’ll figure it out soon. But eliminating the two different versions of the show will give me a little less work to do on all the future shows. So yay.

2020-07-01 20:49:33 +0000 UTCI’ll share how pathetic I am - i wrote this to a person that I barely know yesterday (copied and pasted and unaltered ) - You asked what carol does for a living - haha! Well, okay, I’ll tell you... So I’ll start by saying that in 2011, i stopped watching all television. No clue why exactly, but it just became the epitome of boredom to me. It was at that time That i began more heavily listening to podcasts (i promise this story will eventually tell you what carol does for a living) — I love the ability to listen and do other things concurrently. Since I reached adulthood, I find sitting for prolonged periods of time to be a punishment. Soooo anyway, about a year and a half ago or so, I came across a prank call podcast, and it made me laugh out loud, unlike anything ever in my life. And I’m not a person who laughs outloud or uncontrollably... but for whatever reason, I found this program to be the epitome of hilariousness. It’s just this guy who lives in Oregon who does the pranks, — and one of the ones he does often is to call people pretending he’s from their phone company and apologizing that he has to change their phone number. Well, the people always get angry and ask to speak to his supervisor —- his supervisor is named “Carol” and he uses a voice changer to have her speak with his prank victims. Sooo - that’s why carol’s Facebook profile says that she works at AT&T as a supervisor. I’m so lame that the podcast continues to be my primary source of “fun” in this world... I only just bought carol in December... I got it in my head that I wanted a puppet,,, and I searched for a few weeks online and decided she was the one I wanted - and the rest is history!!
