February 2023 Patreon Release!

Hey there everyone, welcome to this month's Patreon release! Aircraft, assault vehicles, atmospherically-sealed infantry, automata revenants and armoured, tracked bricks!

Before we get into the nitty-gritty, if you're new here, you'll receive your files via MyMiniFactory, either through an email invitation to redeem your files through their site, or if you already have an account, it'll get added to your library automatically - don't worry if you don't get your files right away, however, as it might take me a little while to issue them, as it's a manual process. In addition, on the store page you can see all the previous releases of models - if you've missed out on something and want to get your hands on it, fear not, for as a Patron, you can use a discount code (check the post after this one for it!) to get 15% off all your digital purchases from the Solwyte Studio store!

Well, let's start off small, and go up from there. Admittedly, unlike usual, this month contains no giant robots, however I'm happy to confirm that March will indeed continue the theme you've come to expect from me: walking war machines. In the meantime, however, feast your eyes on the all-new unit for the Skjalos Guard for this month's release, the Hazard Corps:

The Skjalos Hazard Corps are, unlike the rest of their Slaughter Corps brethren, dedicated to specialised missions rather than conventional battles. Equipped with atmospherically-sealed armour, they are prepared for any environment and protected from melee, ballistic and gas assaults with reinforced armour plates and breathing tanks on their backs. Though they are seen on the battlefield on occasion, and in various assaults on perilous locations, their original purpose was specifically to be stationed around incursion gates, where they would watch, wait and lay waste to any Dæmons rising from the depths, safely contained in their armour, and equipped with heavier and more specialised weapons than the rest of the Skjalos infantry regiments.

Coming as a full unit of five models, the Skjalos Hazard Corps are equipped with three grenade launchers (one firing, one between shots and one at rest for the squad commander) and two pulaskis (one at rest, one swinging). All these options are interchangeable, and able to be mirrored in your slicer, for a diverse mix of poses, and even though there aren't quite as many poses as their Slaughter Corps brethren, this is only the first entry into the Hazard Corps range - I fully intend on creating multiple releases of these with more poses, head options and weapons in future.

Decided that maybe having these guys wander around on foot isn't your style? Well, perfect, we've got just what you need!

Designed specifically for the deployment and transportation of the Hazard Corps, the Kæyä Assault Transport is an environmentally-sealed heavy-duty personnel carrier and support tank. Equipped with a Blister Autocannon, an autocannon variant equipped with munitions that tend to shatter on impact, creating a shrapnel-like explosion with each hit, it makes for an excellent companion to its Dæmon-hunting freight. With reinforced armour plating, it's fully prepared to weather most conventional firepower and attacks, along with almost any environment the Skjalos dare to tread, and though is rarely seen on conventional battlefields, is the dedicated home and communications centre for most Skjalos commandos and Hazard Corps.

The Kæyä is the second vehicle based on last month's Nyscä chassis, foregoing its artillery components with a substantial crew bay and a traverse-mounted Blister Autocannon. Unlike previous vehicle models, I've actually tried to futureproof it, with interchangeable cannons that slot into the turret, so I can make new weapons for it at any time with no need to adjust or re-release the vehicle! Look at me, making sensible decisions!

Next up, lets go to a completely different topic - a character for the Covenants of Astyri!

Though the Kastellite ranks are filled with only the willingly converted, amongst their numbers are true devotees. Those few who truly believe in the will of Kolym Hysta and voluntarily travel to Astyri in search of the celestial intelligence are reborn as Kastellite Centurii. Uniquely free willed, these zealous patrons of Astyri are amongst the most deadly, and most dedicated, servants of Kolym Hysta. Far more cunning than their subservient counterparts, the Centurii still think like human beings, though over their hundreds of years, their cunning and malice are all that remain of their humanity, gradually becoming single-minded tyrants and agents of brutality.

Equipped with a choice of a Heavy Bombard, Las Destructor or Sonic Lance, plus the typical Kastellite Heavy Maul, the Kastellite Centurii is truly a regal beefcake. You can also equip him with any other Kastellite wargear from the original kit, and also included in this kit are the original ranged weapons to be fitted to the normal Kastellites.

Admittedly, there's not a whole lot to say about this guy, it's pretty much is exactly what it says on the tin - but let's take another wild tangent into aircraft!

Though largely the understanding of reliable anti-grav technology is beyond most outside the Aventine Empire, there have been many theories and (largely failed) attempts to replicate smaller vehicles such as the Viper or Cobra, none have quite understood how the Elders of Aventine managed to raise such a large vehicle as the Mamba from the earth. Swift, utterly devastating and almost incomprehensibly agile, the Mamba is the paragon of sky hunting, able to approach any target invisible to radio scans and almost silently hovering in the air like an angel of vengeance. Armed with the heaviest weapons that could be fitted to a vehicle of its size, the two Ion Destructors lancing from its prow are able to punch holes in vehicles and vaporise whole units of infantry effortlessly, and whilst these recharge between firing salvos, its supporting multi-spectrum Tachyon Lances are more than able to devastate most targets with ease and equal prejudice.

Next up, and entirely new, is the second addition to the Aventine Dynasties - the Aventine Mamba. Dwarfing the lighter Aventine Viper, the Mamba has a wingspan of 230mm, and measures 208mm nose to tail. Equipped with two huge ion destructors and a pair of underslung multi-spectrum Tachyon Lances as a secondary armament, you might expect such a heavily armed vehicle to be slow and lumbering, however with each of it's wings able to bend along their middle, it maintains a staggering agility, outcompeting most aircraft of its size effortlessly. Though fairly sizeable, the Mamba is cut in such a way that it can be printed on both Mars and larger scaled printers too.

Lastly, but by no means least, the final entry in this month's release is a familiar one, the return and refresh of the venerable Myriax Executor:

Designed long before this Patreon was even dreamt of, in the distant past of July 2020, the Myriax Executor has maintained a place in a number of of your collections for the last few years, but now I feel it's time it deserved a bit of a face-lift, bringing it into line with the newer tanks in the Legacies of Mars range. In addition to rebuilding it's hull from the ground up to give it smoother, more print-friendly edges, and rebuilding an entirely new set of sponsons that are fully compatible with other Legacies of Mars tanks (but improved with new horizontal and vertical rotation!), it has also had a number of changes to details on it, such as replacing the basic shield generators and engine pipes with more detailed, newer and higher resolution pieces, and separation of the tracks from their housings for ease of printing and painting, plus an entirely new set of details behind the track 'skeleton' with better, more consistent details to bring it to life a little more. This also means that, in future, further variants of the Myriax may be making their way to the fore, as the hull has been remade for a little easier customisation, and will be split into a great number more parts for a more pleasant painting experience!

If you actually managed to read this far (thank you!), I'll be posting up the discount codes in the next couple of days, along with plans for February's releases! In addition, though of course this stuff isn't yet presupported, those will follow closer towards the end of this month - January's presupports are almost ready, and I'll upload them and make a post to make you aware as soon as they are!

You've got a whole bunch of new stuff to print, and I can't wait to see them - if you want to show off your finished prints and models, feel free to post them up in #my-solwyte in my Discord! Finally, If you haven't received an email invitation in a few minutes please send me a message via Patreon or Discord and I'll manually issue you one when I'm back awake!
