Poll: Your favourite part of The ЯRetro Show
Added 2021-06-07 22:39:25 +0000 UTCAs you know I've been trying to make The ЯRetro Show a monthly thing rather than take over the channel completely, however the quantity of submissions and particularly memes is far outgrowing the 30-40 minutes of each episode. A wonderful problem to have!
I'm not sure yet of the solution, or if I'll cut a segment out (for now I've left Quick Bytes and Funboxing off this list as I may go back to making them separate episodes to help with the issue), but I'm just interested in what your favourite part of The ЯRetro Show is. Your feedback and enjoyment is very important. So thanks in advance for your votes!

Thanks for your feedback. Would you believe I have a list of real projects I could make a quality episode about that stretches perhaps 2 years ahead. The actual reason for the show can be summed up with the well know saying “Variety is the spice of life”. Not just for the viewer, but for me. In other words, take a project like the recent Amiga HDMI conversion where I also solved a problem. Yes that took a few weeks to perfect, then a week to edit, but it’s the emotional energy that takes the most. I simply can’t do that every time without a break. I have to do a wide variety of styles of episodes. That way it stays interesting for me. And I start to miss style “A” then actually want to go back to it after a week doing style “B”. I want to do it rather than think “this again, so soon? I just finished the last one”! And if it stays fun and interesting for me, it does for the viewer too. I must add I also love the community feel of it. I can’t achieve that locked away on a solo project and collaborations get complicated. I enjoy giving reward badges to viewers for their contribution. But I appreciate if you didn’t grow up in the UK watching Blue Peter that may not resonate with you as much as my motivation for it does. So the ЯR show is here to stay, to add variety and interest. The question was really only about what parts people liked and I have a clear view on that now. But I respect that I can’t please everyone single person. 😊

2021-06-11 03:20:31 +0000 UTCThe RetroShow seems to me like: "O.K. I do not have a real project or a real retro thing I can make a quality episode about. Let's make a RetroShow that, that is just entertaining and does not go to deep." I would like the old format with one thing at the time. And if it takes a month or two and the outcome is a RetroRecipe episode that stretches for an hour or two of 30 Minutes each ... Hey, that's it what I like about it. But that is only my opinion about the thing.

2021-06-11 03:01:53 +0000 UTCI do enjoy it all. I don't see an issue with mixing things up tho either but the Home Brews probably fascinate me most. I keep tabs on several home brew developers and happen to find their work so incredibly fascinating and quite inspiring.
