Poll update

Dear Supporters,

Firstly please don't feel any obligation to reply to this post as you've all been so helpful already lately. Indeed thank you so much for your votes/comments on yesterday's poll. I wasn't expecting such kind and supportive responses, and it really is appreciated! What a lovely and like-minded bunch of fine folks we have here, wow. πŸ‘πŸ•Ή

(And if you haven't voted, I'm still looking at the results although it's pretty clear cut that you support more flexible video release dates...)

I'm not 100% decided on which way to go, but a few of you suggested an interesting compromise whereby I make the supporter releases more flexible as outlined, arriving "when they're cooked" (!) be it a Tuesday, Thursday, or Caturday. But keep the public releases as most Saturdays.

This actually potentially solves the only other "stress" (if you can even call it that) I have which is this: Should I visit merry ol' England for Christmas or take another holiday, there would normally be a longer break in public video releases when people are on their holidays and perhaps want the videos more than usual. So I've felt pressure to make extra videos before I leave to release when I'm there. This has resulted in my focussing a bit too much on thinking about the channel when I should be focussed on family at that time. But by skipping the occasional Saturday public release, you pointed out I'd be able to store up a small reserve of regular videos; likely enough to release later during any trips overseas. Noice!

This does have a small downside which is I like to release videos fairly close to when I finish them, as variables change, and sometimes I'm mentioning topical retro news subjects. Then there's Christmas, April Fool's, etc. themselves which would need some scheduling to arrive on target. But it's an idea!

As you can see in the above banner, for now I've removed the "New recipodes most Saturdays" message in case I do move to flexible public releases. Although for the time being I'll try to leave the public releases as Saturdays and see how the compromise feels.

But I also made some other tweaks to that image, including these paintings of the Puppers. Please enjoy the hi-res version as a little treat! Ladyfractic found this artist on Etsy, and it was very reasonable indeed! May we introduce HRH Princesses and Prince Puppyfractics of California:

Hilarious! 😹

As for the next video, I'm done shooting the repairs & refurb of this Sears Tele-Games Atari VCS Heavy Sixer, and am moving on to the studio on-camera parts (with HRH Puppyfractic!) and editing. I'll get that to you (and this feels amazing to say... *deep breath*) when it's ready! Ahhhh... 😁

See you in 7 weeks! (Just kidding.) Thank you all. I'm a very Luckyfractic.

It means a lot to me that my childhood memories and the warmth I intend, does come across. Your opinion is very significant to me. Thank you.

Family first. The whole feel of your channel is about family and warm memories of growing up, with family, with that retro tech. In my humble, admittedly insignificant opinion, keep the focus on the core message you present in all your videos: fond, happy, warm retro tech with that strong family tie-in. It is absolutely fantastic and you have helped me relive and remember so many wonderful childhood memories. Thank you, from your friend in retro.
