Early bird: Formatting THEC64 floppies on an Android phone? + Windows without Linux!

Update (7-Sep-2020): Good news supporters! There's now an even easier Windows method for creating THEC64® disks that lets you browse the floppy directly within Windows File Explorer. Instead of 6 steps including using HxCFloppyEmulator.exe it's now 3 steps and HxC is no longer required! Check out the new method here

Dear Supporters

Here's your early access. I think we've got some great solutions now for a THEC64® USB floppy disk drive, that anyone can make and use!
Even if you don't have THEC64, I hope you'll find the general tinkering fun and interesting to watch. More interesting than Puppyfractic, who slept through the whole thing (it was a very hot day when we shot her parts!).

Thank you for your ongoing support! 👍🕹

P.S. The Little Computer People video is doing okay but not as well as I'd hoped - the algorithm gods just aren't showing it to as many people for some reason. Feel free to share the link on your preferred social network ;-) https://youtu.be/wZpqABBbd_I

Thank you for your kind words Nate! Means a lot 👍🕹️ Linux should be easy to get going. I kind of envy you not having a modern computer! I look forward to hearing more when you get it up and running. No pressure 😜

Loved the video! I actually hit the Like button as soon as I hear the music and I've never taken any back. You never disappoint but no pressure... ;) I enjoy the dynamic between you and Ladyfractic, it's truly heartwarming to see the fun you two have. Thanks so much for this video. I am going to buy a "THEC64" as it would make a great addition to my living room gaming setup. I find your videos truly inspiring but I am probably one of your only viewers that doesn't own a Mac or Windows PC. So, I will have to adapt those instructions to my precious openSUSE Linux. :D Maybe I'll write about it... Thanks again!

Thank you so much Steven! I appreciate your assessment of the video. It's such fun making them, and just as much fun seeing what people liked about them. I must confess I didn't notice ASS PRESENTS - good eye! Though I probably warmed you up for it with Uranus 🤭 I'm going to guess it was actually A.S.S. that was the name of the crack... err... hack group! Thanks again! 👍🕹️

What can I say about this video that hasn’t already been said? This video was very entertaining and informative, which is the norm for the videos on this channel. :) Thank you so much for providing those without access to a 3D printer (as well as a Mac) an alternative to recreating this project. The decal made the drive look really cool, and it’s a much better form factor for a 3.5 inch drive than the 1581 released by Commodore themselves back in the day. This will be a fine addition to TheC64 once I get it in November… The lens flare and the credit to JJ Abrams was a nice touch (it certainly had me laughing, as did the “Accident.jpg” part of the video during the scan of The64 Mini), but at the 14:44 mark in the video, when you listed the contents of the disk image for Parallax…did it really say what I think it said in Line 0? If so, it’s right up there with the “Uranus it's win!” joke. I had to freeze the frame to make sure… I wholeheartedly agree with my fellow patrons; the amount of work and attention to detail put into each of these videos are the main reason why this channel continues to grow and succeed. It’s just amazing to see how retro and modern technology can be used together (with a twist!) to provide both the nostalgia we can all identify with and the modern conveniences that we all enjoy. Keep up the great work, Christian, and take care. :)
