Early-bird: The Apple PIIe

Dear Patreons

Here's a video I've been wanting to share for a while. As you may be able to tell, I put a lot of time, heart & soul into it.

I love restoring vintage computers, but despite some obstacles with a recent purchase, I wanted to help this computer emulate what it once was. (And more!) It may not be an original Apple ][ but I hope it will help invigorate discussion in these classic treasures and encourage more people to bring them back to life in novel ways.

This is also the first intro/outro I have shot where I felt like a "real channel" after reaching that recent YouTube tier. You may see some improved production values (though I never want to get too polished.) I hope you find it Apple-peeling I mean appealing!

This one won't be going live to public mortals quite as quick as normal while I wait for YouTube's formal decision – I made it with that day in mind....

So I hope you enjoy your very early access with this little journey into the past, via the future. Feel free to let me know what you think below, or in the video comments section, or even both ;)

Your friend in retro,
Chris aka Թҽɾíƒɾɑϲtíϲ

I'm equally intrigued! I like the idea of spraying the gamepads Apple Beige (apart from the round bits that already match the keys) and adding the Joystick //e label. The lid also needs retrobriting. I hear RetroManCave is good at that... 🤔😉

Brilliant video, I really enjoyed that. Very much looking forward to seeing where you (all) take this.

Thanks! It's a retro Pi! 😉

Most excellent! I love the fact you are using the original RaspberryPI. So many of these got relegated to the "parts bin" when folks upgraded to Raspberry Pi 2.0, 3.0, etc.
