2 trap I'm not as well versed on so I won't try to explain it but I know there is great resources out there on it. Cheers

Sean Kolovich

Thanks Sean! That's a great explanation

Paul

2 trap and stubbie are rules within a coverage. Stubbie is Saban terminology that is involved in his Cover 7.vs 3x1 #1 WR in the trips set (count outside in) is to be played with man coverage every where he goes by the corner (MEG). The apex player (first player inside of the outside corner) is responsible for vertical, or short out routes. The MIKE line backer will wall off and carry any short or underneath routes. The FS will be responsible for #3 vertical, or carrying #2 vertical if #3 goes to the flat. Cover 2 is played on the single receiver side

Im not 100 percent sure either but my impression from the coverage was that they show a safety in the middle of the field to show middle field closed then after the snap the safeties split. Sort of like when a linebacker shows blitz and then backtracks into coverage. Again, that was my impression.. Not certain.

Awesome vid as always! Could you clear up a few things, please? What is faux closed? I understand what closed and open are, but not faux closed. What is 2 trap? What is stubbie?

Paul

Awesome! Thank you JT. Can't wait to dive in.
