This time, we’re revisiting the two episodes we recorded with Kailas Elmer — “Lovecraft and Art” and “Art and the Cthulhu Mythos”. Both were lively discussions, and the latter, in particular, went to all sorts of places we didn’t anticipate. Going back over the episodes during editing raised a whole bunch of new ideas and questions, some of which we explore here.
The episodes also inspired a lot of chat on our Discord server. We go through some comments from listeners and offer our own thoughts.

Mention was made of the "protagonist writing down his own demise" trope that crops up in some weird fiction stories. Well, yes... but I was sadly reminded of how HPL did actually journal his own demise, with detailed accounts of the ravages of his own illness. I believe this was actually published at one point. I remember reading through it, a slim pamphlet, in a book shop in London some time in the early 80s. I didn't buy it as it was a desperately sad to read, and I felt uncomfortable about the fact ti had been published at all. Funny, and sad, how fiction and truth sometimes collide.
